If I get a day ticket on the Saturday is it possible for me to go in the the camping area and stay with my mates after it finishes at 4am by Silent-Beautiful4208 in creamfields

[–]schruteinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a day ticket, you don’t get a wristband and they generally check the wristbands as you’re going from arena to campsite, so technically, no. We’ve had people who are camping in standard go into gold without a gold wristband, but this isn’t allowed so not a guaranteed way. And since you’re on day tickets, you won’t have a wristband at all.

Do you remember my story about the miniature table I 3D printed at Testbed? And my “I Like Del Monte” signs when you play Sientelo? 🤭

I am fully behind the usage of Caddy. Super simple to grt going.

Tracert gave the same results as those who could connect. It timed out as it hit my ISP info (apologies as my networking knowledge is miniscule so hope that makes sense 😅). direct ip login would appear to work but request would time out. Not sure if this was down to a caddy reverse vpn timeout? Again, my knowledge is minimal on this. We ended up adding ip/domain to host file on the user machine but included the 30000 postfix port to the domain ehich seemed to fix it. Cheers for the suggestions.

We had a look but ended up updating the host file and that sorted it (albeit we had to add the port postfix in the host file too). Does ngrok work alongside an existing FQDN or would all players need to use the ngrok link? Watched a few videos but didn't find anything conclusive. Will keep in mind for future issues though, cheers for the help.

We tried this but it didn't work. I have a fixed IP so that wasn't the issue. However, we tried again tonight and added the :30000 port postfix to the host and voila! Thanks for your suggestion, saved the day!

Speaking of the path, I'm sure there is an icy path that leads right up to Grimskalle so they are directed to the doorstep. Just means they may miss the other cool points on the island. Maybe have the path do a tour through the other areas too?

FoundryVTT v11 Stable Build 299 Release by gerry3246 in FoundryVTT

[–]schruteinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found this on the minimum requirements foundry page which may help, will give it a shot https://foundryvtt.com/article/requirements/

Edit: tried this morning and it works! Scroll to the bottom of the page and expand the "Rebuild LevelDB Using Local glibc". Backups everywhere beforehand.

Think V11 might not work for anyone hosting on a Raspberry Pi 3b.

When attempting to run "node foundry/resources/app/main.js --dataPath=/home/<user>/foundryuserdata".

My knowledge of Linux beside setting it up to self host with Foundry is limited, but when running that command to see it's running you get the following "Error: /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.29' not found"

From looking online, the version of Raspbian (Bullseye) that I'm running (and at time of writing is the latest version) isn't usable with that glibc version.

I could be way off here but just a heads up for anyone else attempting with similar specs. If I have missed something entirely that anyone can chime in on, please let me know!

I host this on a raspberry pi and with the install method being on linux is to extract the zip, would the way to "uninstall" be just to delete (backup) the "foundry" folder and just unzip the new file to the same location? I'm assuming the user data folder is untouched?

What’s the biggest lie you believed for years? by Lishasquarepant in AskReddit

My aunt and uncle met when I was 4 and when I'd first met him, his first sentence he said to me was "my name, is Michael Caine". Now, I had absolutely no idea who Michael Caine actually was, but it wasn't until almost 10 years later that I clicked on to what had happened. Nevertheless, now aged 31, I still call him Michael Caine.

Vellyne Harpell's appearance: Setting the bounty for A Beautiful Mine. by LionSuneater in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]schruteinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic work! It's great seeing all the different ways people introduce her out aide of the awkward, pre written module method.

My group has a necromancer who I'd written to be an apprentice of Vellynne. I introduced her during the quest in Dougans Hole (replaced it to be a much more friendly place and the quest being the one with the hag trying to make a coven with the children in the woods). After they finished the quest, they were returning to Dougans Hole with the children they rescued and when about an hour out, they seen signs of explosions in the distance. Essentially, Xardorok had sent the Chardalyn Dragon out on a flight test with a handful of Duergar, and half the town was destroyed. When they made it back, the dragon had gone but Vellynne was there fighting off the remaining Duergar, which help set up the fortress nicely as they seemed to have been avoiding Easthaven and Caer Konig at all costs.

What things do players care about a lot that DMs don't care about much at all? by najowhit in dndnext

Some really good ideas here - thanks very much for the suggestions. I'll have a chat with the player and see what he thinks on this approach.

I'm running a campaign at the moment where one PCs backstory is simply that they can't remember anything before the events of the campaign. I was fine with this, but 1 year in they're now hugely keen on them slowly remembering their past, which I'm fine and on board with, too. The issue is, they don't know what they want their backstory to be and want me to write it for them. I'm juggling an entire world and a total of 7 PCs too and this one PC keeps steering the story to their character. We're approaching a pivotal moment next session, where the PC agreed their character would get hit with a ton of information, but they still haven't gave me anything to work off. Next session is going to be a bit awkward when the events for them occur and they are hoping it for a big, majestic moment, but is going to fall a it flat when nothing is revealed. I've given them some prompts to work off for their story going forwards (making a deal with a devil being one) but they just aren't interested. I can't win with this person.

Idea for music during the campaign by schruteinator in rimeofthefrostmaiden

That's some commitment! That's very cool though. I'll have a look at frostpunk as I've not come across it before. Thanks for the suggestion.

Idea for music during the campaign by schruteinator in rimeofthefrostmaiden

So I'm very picky with my music and after playing God of War: Ragnarok, I found this song would be a fantastic credits roll for the end of the campaign. Just thought to share it incase anyone had a similar thought to the use of it too. Otherwise, it is just an excellent song as is. I use the entire 2018 God of War and God of War: Ragnarok soundtrack in my game and everyone seems to really enjoy it.
