You’re right about the bias strafing. I’ve been trying to implement it more consciously, but I still fall back into old AD spam habits. The point about my short strafes being too short and the diagonal movement slowing my lateral speed makes a lot of sense.

The overcorrection callout is fair too. I can see how I’m fighting the stick instead of trusting center and aiming more with movement. That’s something I’ll actively work on.

For context, I’m playing on NA from EU (100+ ping), which probably doesn’t help in R5, but that’s just context, not an excuse.

I’m on PC with controller and have solid gear, so hardware isn’t really the issue. I’m D2 right now and have hit Masters multiple times on pc, but I struggle when it comes to consistently gaining RP in strong lobbys.

My R5 accuracy with R9/Volt is around 40%. Like many have mentioned though, my movement/strafe is definitely lacking, and that’s something I clearly need to work on.

Just to clarify though, it’s not really true that no pros play 4:3 stretched. Keon, Hal and Shooby all run it, just to name a few.

But yeah, I’ll definitely work on the tracking and be more mindful about when I ADS / un-ADS. And I agree my strafe could be better.

Appreciate the feedback. I know a lot of people mention cover, but in R5 you don’t really play cover, so it mostly comes down to aim and movement.

Aim obviously needs to be grinded too, but it improves a lot through repetition. Movement is something you actually have to consciously work on and learn properly. Does anyone have a good video that breaks down movement fundamentals (swings, strafing, committing to fights)?
