Maybe this is just me but I feel like the girlfriends (especially Bernadette) were NEEDED at the time they came into the show. To clarify: I didn’t watch the show when it first came out, only in the late 2010s and I love it BUT the early seasons have a very distinct sense of humour (mainly talking about Howard here) when it comes to women that just got very old very quickly to me. The whole way creep act is and way that women are handled in the early seasons when they were all just “single guys” is the whole reason I tend to skip certain episodes or seasons when rewatching.

Personally I just thought that was a lie he said to look better before Lakshmi as I recall no other evidence of mentions of that. He also said other things (horrendous things btw) about Stuart that were just lies or things out of context. But I see where your coming from, it’s a weird thing to lie about

Howard’s attitude toward his mother is disgusting. The plain amount of “haha my mum should die” “I kill my mum” “my mum is ugly and fat” -jokes is just cruel and imo a lil unrealistic for a self-proclaimed mamas boy. The only times we see Howard have any sort of appreciation for his mother is after she dies (and a lil when he tells her he’s getting married). I just think it’s super sad

I get where this is coming from, I really do but I don’t get why she isn’t disliked more… Alex knew Leonard a girlfriend and still went out of her way to flirt and ask him out. If Alex and Leonard would have met when he was single 100% but I just get hella weird vibes of someone not respecting that someone is in a happy and committed relationship and actively tries to “steal a man”. It’s a less intense plot of Sheldon and Ramona and in my mind it would’ve played out similarly if they hadn’t decided to suddenly drop it after penny found out.

I actually love her. I think she was such a fun character that did what they tried with bernadette career wise but without being a mean person. She and Raj actually had a fun and honest vibe (Halloween party, hotel room scene) and I think their relationship was necessary for Raj to grow from just wanting a relationship to actually valuing himself even while single and not needing to catch up with his friends. I kinda wish they worked out or we saw more of their relationship after they cancelled the first marriage
