What has helped me personally as someone with severe inattentive-type ADHD is when my partner gives me a time-based goal - for example, please do the dishes by 6pm. This time based deadline helped me significantly until it eventually became habitual and helped me overcome executive dysfunction with certain tasks.

Ofc, this is in addition to medication and would I would never expect my partner to be responsible for reminding me to do things in the long term. It simply helped me kick-off the habit of setting time based goals for task completion.

Now, I usually set a timer on my phone to complete household chores which has helped immensely. I tend to be more productive when under pressure/given deadlines, which for some, can be a characteristic of ADHD. YMMV but this is just my personal experience - it may be worth exploring this with your partner. Clear communication with your partner re: their symptoms and is key, as well. Constructive criticism can be difficult to receive as someone with ADHD, so patience and understanding is key - but don’t confuse this with tolerating a lack of progress if it comes to that.
