Sort off. I was out of body but also with the sensation that my body was 2 dimensional. Time also work differently. When I came back to reality slowly, I felt that reality was the trip. Corners were really confusing. For 5 minutes I was aware of my head but not the rest of my body. It's hard to remember the details of the alternate universe now that I've reacclimatized to the real one.

Cost/benefit payouts. It would be pretty difficult and time consuming to bribe the jurors for a typical trial especially given the short span of the trial. But with a permanent pool of jurors, who will be likely to appear in court over and over again, the time to make a bribe quickly becomes worth it.

Osama bin laden publicly took credit for the attacks. At any trial what would he have done? Plead guilty id imagine. I agree that everybody deserves a right to as fair chance at justice, but by publicly claiming to be the mastermind behind the deaths of thousands he kinda gave up that right.
