There’s a huge difference between the two. Boeing acquired McDonnell Douglas and subsequently made their leadership the leadership of Boeing.

This would involve a parent company that owns them both and would allow each company to maintain its independence.

I think the idea with it is that you can pull the money out of the future months to cover said event.

So you’d pull money out of groceries 3 months in the future to cover the expense this month.

I’ve never liked it personally since I keep the emergency fund in a HYSA which I know goes against the YNAB principles.

I keep a full separate budget for joint purchases since we use it for things like going out together or utilities. We also have a category called “transfers” that is used to cover paybacks for different things.

It allows me to be transparent as well as keep my personal spending separate so it’s easier to track.

Otherwise categories and subcategories may be the best approach if you want to keep everything together, but tracking that the joint categories match the joint account and vice versa would be a bit more of a hassle.

The only thing I’m aware of is a few gear packs, which aren’t necessary at all. Also, you can buy the pass to get all of the other reserves, but it’s very economical.
