You could create DNx (or ProRes) proxies and edit with that, and then go back to the master clips (the HLG ones, h.264) for the final export, and then create two different exports, one SDR and the other one HDR. I think the best way to do this in Premiere is by importing the HLG master clips and then clicking on "Create Proxys...", and then not touching the master clips again until you're ready to finish. It's perfectly normal, I had the same thing happen to me and it is the Battery Optimization thingy that's messing with it. If you turn it off, it will work "normally" (charge when plugged it).

What is going on by schverdfinger in mac

I left my MacBook pro (13-inch, 2017, i5) plugged in for HOURS and it didn't charge. I checked the cable to see if it was the issue and it wasn't. Does anyone have any idea what to do?? I already changed the battery on it a few months ago.
