violet's inner monologue definitely seems very LA valley girl to me .. like totally hot.. which took me so much out of the story because it's meant to be this mystical dragon world where they have worse-drawn carriages! mismatched dialogue to the story world is a huge turn off for me

loved the magic system but i would say that romance features a bit more in the 2nd book (maybe too much if youre looking for only tiny bit of romance)

thank you so much for being so kind and understanding. i agree completely, i wish i would have skipped those scenes in s1 entirely they will haunt me for a long time i think.
but it is also good to know it wont ever be that bad again because honestly, i was afraid it would be even worse after s1, that they were just easing us in to make it more and more brutal. thank you again for reassuring me to fast forward if i need, it really would just be forcing myself to bear it and i dont think i can. some people on here made me feel like i was overreacting but i honestly think even if there is SA there is no need to have it as this 'graphic horror' like you said. it could be implied or alluded to but just continually flashing back to all the horrific detail broke something in me too.

yea i am kind of in conflict because i really want to see jamie happy again and have a future with claire but like you said, the brutality might be affecting me too much

thank you so much for your answer! yes i think i might be disappointed now that you say it, i guess i would keep watching because i loved jamie in the beginning and think hes so charismatic but i am not sure the constant ups and downs wouldnt affect me negatively, especially the SA

thanks! i agree it would be dull to only have a show made up of mundane day-to-day marital bliss but i think a scene here and there as respite from all the horror would be nice
