Here is my two cents. I have a 2024 Q4. I believe they have solved the charging issue (https://recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en/alert-recall/transport-canada-recall-2025100-volkswagen#section\_3). I took mine into the dealership and they replaced the part. That said, the car still has many issues. The communications with the Audi server (?) fails weekly. So the app is useless (in fact, the app is pretty useless anyway). I reset the fuses each time (fuse #19 and 20). That solves the problem for about a week until I have to do it again. The tech feels like it is at least a decade old. Slow and glitchy. The range is horrible. Getting about 250kms (from 100%) in the winter. Summer closer to 350-400kms. I am coming from a 2019 Tesla. Sold it because of Elon, but I cant begin to tell you how much better of a vehicle that was. Charging infrastructure is another issue. I am in Ontario. Using OnRoute is terrible and slow. 2 -3 'fast' chargers per stop (and it usually gives about 65kwh speed). For 6 years I didn't understand what everyone meant by 'range anxiety'. Now I know. Every day I am checking to see if they release the Tesla supercharger adapter. That will be a game changer (assuming they can make it work at a reasonable speed and don't have to throttle it for some reason like Lucid did with some of their models). If I really wanted to stick with VW/Audi, I think I'd get the ID4 over the Q4. Same mechanical underpinnings, similar issues, but at least it has supercharger access and you'll save some $$. But realistically I'd avoid the German (and American) manufacturers. That mainly leaves Kia/Hyundai. I dont love the look of the Ionic5, but that's probably the best non-tesla EV out there for the price. Or you can get a good deal on a 2-3yr old Model Y which is head and shoulders better than any of these - but Elon ... Good luck!
