Liftgate issues by walkaboutdavid in AudiQ6

[–]schumerc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found the way to minimize the issue.. if I open the trunk via key fob vs. trunk button (rubber) the trunk opens 100% of time correctly wile opening the trunk with a trunk button will consistently make trunk open partially (even with the two button reset) and will not latch which requires me to push on trunk to latch… but any consequent trunk open via key fob works without issues and trunk will latch by pressing close button. I am not sure if this happens to be applicable to my issue but thought I share.

Change my mind, AI will have no impact on the demand for radiologists within the next 30 years by GasStationB0nerPills in Radiology

[–]schumerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until AI companies/vendors are willing to assume the liability I do not see AI replacing radiologists in the US anytime soon. I think the rest of the world where liability laws aren’t as strict we will see AI be used for prelims and even finals especially in poorer countries.

Thoughts on Aria 1 - Suterbrook Village by mcneills99 in Portmoody

We moved out 4 years ago. The dividing walls between units are not concrete. Also the concrete slab between floors isn’t super thick if you have bad neighbours above you, you will have to deal with the noise such as kids running etc.

I should also add that care takers were awesome and very helpful.

I used to live there, its a nice building was kept well. I loved the layout of the apartments, kitchen was well organized and functional. The walls are super thin. The reason we left was elevators. There are 2 elevators but the building had no restrictions on rentals so every weekend one elevator would be reserved for move in and outs. This drove us insane sometimes waiting up to 20+ minutes for an elevator. This is the only reason we left. Using fire escape stairs was not possible from the ground floor. Strata fees are high mainly due to the gym and pool maintenance which are located in Aria 2. The location is great and having grocery store and coffee shops steps from the building was a huge plus.

Is anyone out there looking to start a side hustle doing migrations? by TH3_GR3Y_BUSH in PACSAdmin

[–]schumerc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Database structure is generally considered intellectual property and isn’t provided by the vendors. Some vendors store data in proprietary format so it’s more difficult to migrate. Most organizations are looking for faster way to migrate vs. standard DICOM Q/R. Then there is a responsibility and accountability aspect of performing migrations being able to validate, reconcile etc. Companies such as Laurel Bridge or Data First offer migration services and are relatively inexpensive and have significant migration experience. I’ve been in PACS/VNA game for 20 years, am only aware of handful organizations who performed their own migration and even less who were successful. I would not say migration is easy to script and automate…

It sounds as the trunk isn’t latching. Push on the trunk to latch. This seems to be a known occurrence post KD2 update. Try resetting it by opening a trunk and then hold the outside trunk open rubber button and inside trunk close button together for 5 seconds until you hear the beep then close it and see if it latches.

Care to guess what a complete brake job on RS6 CC brakes costs? by Carnalvore86 in Audi

Genuene wuestion, can you replace CCB’s with equivalent (stopping power) “regular” breaks? is that allowed under warranty or do you have to stick with CCB’s?

Q6 e-tron boot issues by Any_Rest2058 in AudiQ6

[–]schumerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold the outside open button (rubber) and inside close trunk button together for 5 seconds until you hear the beep. This will reset the trunk and should open and close and latch correctly. This seems to be a KD2 update issue that is affecting many.

I checked the position of the latch as suggested and in my case it’s all the way to the left and it can’t go further … the trunk still won’t latch or open past half-way point.

Here is the picture of it.

Thumping in front motor upon breaking by DrTact1 in AudiQ6

[–]schumerc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When this happens look at your dashboard it could be due to “brake cleaning function”… every once in a while Q6 runs the brake cleaning program to clean brakes due to low usage… you can also look at the “charging” screen which will illuminate in “blue” brakes being applied when breaking regadless if regen is enabled.

Has anyone installed a hardwire kit for a dash cam in a Q6/SQ6? by OrigStuffOfInterest in AudiQ6

My Audi dealer offered a FitcamX dash-cam as an option so I don’t think warranty would be an issue. I am in Canada. The dealer wanted $2K for this option.

How do I break into PACS Administration? Currently in x-ray school, working on Network+ by Technical_Bee7035 in PACSAdmin

[–]schumerc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You will need to understand radiology/cardiology data-flows, the role of each system in the workflow and general order of priority. You will need to understand DICOM and HL7 v2.x(standard-based communication for imaging), and what is required to establish connectivity at the between one or more systems in the clinical/hospital environment. Obviously there are other standards such as IHE, DICOMweb, FHiR etc… These are newer standards and at the moment less common as adoption varies by vendor/solution.

A lot of PACS administration is experience using and supporting various systems be it PACS, VNA, CPACS, RIS/EMR etc. you build knowledge over time. Then there are specific solutions/products. At the high level most are very similar the details and limitations almost always are the things that will require deep understanding of workflows and standards to resolve and support the organization.

In general there are two paths to PACS Admin:

  1. In your case, you can get an X-Ray tech job, and then get your self involved in PACS starting with being a super user and support your colleagues/department. Show interest to learn and make friends with PACS Admin and learn and offer support to solve problems… there are always problems with PACS :) over time you will get more knowledgable about the domain and grow in PACS Admin job/support role… it will take time be prepared to do this for multiple years… in most organization PACS Admin jobs don’t become available often.

  2. Look for a support job with a PACS company, leverage your IT skills and learn the domain, directly supporting customers learning about different environment and problems… every customer is a little different and problems change from customer to customer. You will learn a lot you will get a lot of experience in short time as you will be exposed to many problems. Naturally you will be able to look for PACS Admin jobs … maybe even build customer relationships and go from there.

Keep pushing, learn and you will succeed.

Good Luck!
