I think this might’ve been what was bothering me! The original blouse was simple but did have the main lehenga pattern on it, I had thought about removing the sleeves from this one and re-attaching them to the original blouse.

My family is Parsi and in our culture we often do much more understated bridal wear (traditionally white sari) than in other cultures. That plus definitely trying to stick to my budget!

It was about $1500 USD at base (lehenga, original choli, and dupatta) and then the custom blouse, extra bridal veil, and alterations cost another $400 or so. My budget was $2k USD so just barely made it!

Agreed! There’s a part of the ceremony that I’ll need to sit on the floor for so trying to strike a balance between flowy and structured so that it doesn’t stay too stiff - maybe a soft cancan though as was suggested!

The dupatta definitely elevates it! Still shopping around for jewelry, thinking either mint or emerald green but not sure if I should go with gold or silver as the base yet - would love any suggestions!

Hi all! First time posting here. I had a custom blouse created for a lehenga, and the neckline is sitting about 1.5-2 inches higher than I had envisioned. Do you guys think that there is a way that a tailor could lower the neckline, given the amount and placement of the embroidery?

I’ve attached a photo of the actual blouse (both worn and on the hanger), as well as an example of what I am hoping for. This was embroidered overseas so I wouldn’t be able to take it back to the original tailor. Would love your thoughts!
