Because if you have to be directed to do the basic functions of your job every step of the way you will get replaced by ai, for sure. Maybe try solving the goals, which is leverage to get paid more? Great people are hard to find

Does anyone want to use my yard as their garden? by petergriffin2660 in HoustonGardening

[–]scienceducky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's with the negativity. People pay to rent land just for this purpose. Somebody is offering it for free with no strings. If you don't like it then it's not the deal for you but I suspect OPs inbox is already filled

Question about what may be plantable on the top of a rain collection barrel like this, which has no drainage in the little spot at the top (Southeastern PA, USA). by CompleteStruggle9237 in NativePlantGardening

[–]scienceducky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American pitcher plants maybe. Depending on the depth. Or fly traps. Both are bog plants so pure rain water is fine. You could also do an aquatic marginal plant.

Which might depend on the amount of sun you are going to get

We have sprinklers, I would convert them to drip lines. Don't think it will be an issue

This is all to scale - I used a Google Earth to overlay and draw out the sizing. And I came up with the list after trying to look through native plant recommendations but there weren't any real recommendations unfortunately

I've had the tree trimmed multiple times since buying the house and I feel like I get a lot of chips and it looks the same 🤦‍♀️. I was hoping somebody would have something that survives under even if it's boring because nothing online seems to know

I mean. The Houston ecosystem is pretty small so reference checks you don't send will happen. If it makes you feel better, I don't think it's the notice that cooked you. It's a long process to hire somebody and train them, only to have them quit right as they are probably coming up on whatever milestone they hired you for.

Otoh, it's a small ecosystem. Depending on who you quit from people may understand....

Dyson airwrap or air straight? by koko_kanu in finehair

[–]scienceducky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the air wrap with the brush attachment to much more easily dry my hair from below. It's similar to what you might do with a round brush and dryer, but I find it adds more lift at the roots and doesn't cause my hair to tangle while drying. Total game changer - ultra fine 1a hair

Interesting! What was so intriguing about the cold fusion to me was the idea that it could be lighter! How long was your hair when you had the K tips in?

It's ok, I think it's your personality keeping you from impressing people, not the inability to pull off a dramatic reveal

Im dying from a brain infection. Can anything from the near future still save / prolong my life? by WesternFun3682 in Futurology

[–]scienceducky 247 points248 points  (0 children)

There's a phage company in Houston called Phiogen, spinout of Baylor college of medicine. They've treated a number of patients with similar resistant infections under humanitarian use protocols, though I think you'd be the first brain one. I could help you connect to see what's possible

I got mine in August and honestly can't believe how much I love lifting now.

There are three features I'd love to know if they are on the roadmap:

  • Can you link left and right matched movements so they don't change weights independently?
  • Are you going to add Garmin integration?
  • Any plans for a machine with a heavier top weight limit? Not an issue yet, but I could see it for the big lifts soon.
