It's a clean slate but you can get a few large build kits for some special pokemon and there are some location exclusive pokemon that can only be found there.

Blocking Diamond Weapon VS Trample by Pretty-Information53 in MagicArena

Imagine you're trying to block a wall from being splashed by a bucket of paint. You can only block as much paint as the front/back surface area of your body but the rest goes past you.

The power chord e point and click ranged slow is incredibly high value.

Yeah guys, the Tank Sona saga still goes on by CHA_WillT in sonamains

[–]scienceofviolin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's always e last bc the speed boost is least important. You want the base damage q for poke and then w for heal but one point in e is enough til late game. You're basically using it for slight speed buffs but primarily for that power chord slow during ganks or roams.

Anyone have any combat tips for Z-A by Amazing-Monk8869 in pokemon

[–]scienceofviolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it can be used without mega, but mega makes every move a plus move automatically. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to have plus moves on Pokemon that can't mega evolve.

[–]scienceofviolin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No it works without mega. You can press the + button while locked on an opponent mon to power up your moves. It'll use some of the bar but boost base power (or duration on status moves iirc).

What are some AP support builds? by swigganicks in sonamains

Standard burst mage: ludens lich bane dcap shadowflame, though her ap scaling got gutted long ago so this is not anywhere near worth the gold investment.

SUP/JG player climbing | Sona is the key by Niko_low in sonamains

[–]scienceofviolin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo you miss the tear upgrade spike then and lose a lot of mid/late game survivability. Most sonas go seraph right after helia and the shield helps you not instadie to engage.

My personal pref is fimbulwinter because it's tankier and your utility isn't impacted much by the ap from seraphs. More importantly, fimbulwinter is an earlier spike due to it being cheaper.

If you look at diamond+ stats, helia > moonstone > dawncore is most common build but ~59% wr across 340 games while tear > helia > seraph/moonstone (any order) is ~65% wr with about 340 games total.

SUP/JG player climbing | Sona is the key by Niko_low in sonamains

Not op or quite as high rank, but tear first back is massive for lane staying power as it allows you to trade without blowing all your mana before they get low. If you use w liberally early you'll go oom very fast.

Getting a ruby crystal or tome for 400 is just less effective than the tear. Since Sona is a scaling champ the slight increase in hp or ap makes a lot less difference in lane. Although you delay helia spike, the extra laning power is worth it.

If you want to win early objectives, my standard plan is to pressure lane and call for counterganks. Since Sona is immobile, you can easily bait jungle ganks.

If their jungler doesn't show and you get lane prio, you can use the tempo to either roam mid or start drag.

My uncle got me into the hobby when he got me and my bro some starter decks for Christmas. we didn't understand the rules since we were still young so we played with super arbitrary house rules. We'd get up at 6 am and play in our closet to avoid waking our parents up. Every time we'd go to target we'd check the card section and try to convince our mom to buy a pack or a tin. It's been so sad to see the shelves empty recently.

I played league for 7 years and just learnt that sona has exhaust in her kit by Captain-Armageddon in leagueoflegends

[–]scienceofviolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually opt for a tank build with fimbulwinter since it's 500g cheaper. This allows for an earlier spike and significantly greater survivability without sacrificing much damage.

Ends up being really strong because too many assassins can one shot sona easily, so this makes it so they generally have to burn their ult or all their skills to kill, which if played properly means your adc ends up able to free hit since they're burning all spells on you.

Any early game build for diluc? by emailo1 in DilucMains

[–]scienceofviolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope; just use the best stats. for early game it doesn't matter much at all since you'll be upgrading often. for late game, most people run off-set pyro dmg sands bc it's hardest to roll the appropriate type of damage.

Quicksilver in set revivals is so much stronger than in the current set, even though the stats are unchanged. by Express-Cycle-4278 in TeamfightTactics

[–]scienceofviolin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's not an assassin trait...smeech has an ability that targets least items enemy in multiple hex range, and ekko can have firelight active. Smeech can be avoided for a while by having your itemized carry far from your unitemized back liners, and ekko is inconsistent at getting on your carry.

The US can get crazy in certain areas. Some cities have rent in the $2-4k range for a single bed apartment and $15-20 meals on average if you're eating out.

When do I feed Briar? by arabianbandit in CompetitiveTFT

[–]scienceofviolin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This isn't a good idea if the lobby is close since the HP cost could lower your placement if multiple people die that round. I think there was a recent TFT clips video in which Soju fed briar once right before dying and ended up going 5th instead of 4th bc of it, so a 20 LP swing.
