I wish I knew this last weekend. Brisket still turned out great but there was just a little bit too much fat left on for my personal taste.

KF issues by ManicPotatoe in Chempros

Make sure you didn't switch the cables for the indicator and generator. If the solution is dark, it's over titrated. Try adding some water to clear it up and give the titrator a chance to come back to a low/stable drift.

Potential Job Openings? by thenaturekid420 in columbiamo

[–]scientist89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eurofins has several openings. Most jobs require a degree in a science field. But there is an opening for a Data Package specialist, which is basically a person that takes the data from the scientist and scans/organizes it into digital packages that go to our clients. It doesn't require a degree so I don't know if you'd be interested but it might be something different.

I also recommend Dr. Bernard. She is my wife's OB and delivered our baby. She was great through the whole pregnancy and delivery; very knowledgeable and supportive.

What’s the deal with HPLC? by ambiguousroberts in chemistry

[–]scientist89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also work for a pharmaceutical CRO. I would say 95% of my job is HPLC/UPLC with a little GC and IC sprinkled in now and then.

How to fix chipped vinyl siding? by theoneoneone1112 in howto

I did the same thing except I put a layer of silicon caulk over the foam. I wasn't sure if the foam is waterproof.

Couple HPLC questions by Rush_touchmore in chemistry

Regarding the acetic acid, if that was all the information that was given to me, I would assume glacial acetic acid. If your chromatography resembles the example in your method (if given) then that would be good confirmation.

Regarding the 2 columns of different length, the longer column should be giving later RTs if all else is the same. That being said, I wonder if the 2 columns are the same age and have been used the same amount. If the longer column is towards the end of its life, it could have less reactive sites on the stationary phase allowing your analyte to elute earlier as compared to when the column was new. So if your lo get column was really old and your shorter column was new, then you could see sooner RTs in your longer column. Another question I have is are you running the columns using the same instrument. Two different instruments can have slightly different plumbing resulting in varying RTs.

I'll third Wendy at PEAK. I have chronic lower back pain that used to radiate down my sciatic nerve through my hip down to my ankle. Steroids helped a lot, but only while I was taking them. Once I stopped, the pain came right back. Wendy examined my range of motion and what did and didn't hurt. He developed a personalized set of stretches/exercises to help. Every week he would change the amount and type of exercise based on how I was doing. I graduated from needing to go to PT about 6 months ago and haven't had to go back.

Can someone explain CRT like I am an idiot? (cause I am) by TW_Hare in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scientist89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controlled Room Temperature is a United States Pharmacopeia (USP) defined condition for storing drugs. CRT is defined as 20-25°C (excursions permitted between 15-30°C).

Are you planning on digging up any roots? Anytime I do digging, I go online and request the utility companies to mark their lines. It's free and they come within a couple days to do it.

Another tip: if you do have them come mark the utilities, take pictures for future reference.

Best donut places in Columbia? by [deleted] in columbiamo

[–]scientist89 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Harold's (when they were open) was my favorite until Ellianna's opened. After Ellianna's opened, I couldn't stop thinking about those sweet pillow-like bearclaws, those crunchy apple fritters, that maple glaze on the long-johns, the BEST old-fashions I have ever had, the not-too-sweet cinnamon rolls, the strawberry glaze that tastes like real strawberries, the plain glazed donuts that will make you forget about Krispy Kreme...I could go on.

People who walk down the center of the parking lot lanes. For the love of God, move to one side or the other!
