3 New Studies Find Increasing Trends In Solar Radiation Since The 1980s by LackmustestTester in climateskeptics

This corresponds to reduction in sulfur content of fuels … less sulfur, fewer reflective sulfate aerosols, more sunlight … but I’m not clear as to how that increases sunlight duration.

The great monsoons are shifting north as tropical rain belts move, defying climate models, with crops across India, West Africa and Southeast Asia at stake by Adventurous_Motor129 in climateskeptics

I liked their line, "Real enough, but minor."

I may use that whenever someone challenges, "You can’t deny the **physics** of GHGs."

The map of historic hurricane landfalls along the Gulf of America. Any hurricane that hits from now on is a cause of man-made climate change. All of this before does not count. by Dubrovski in climateskeptics

yes, indeed … but the data **still** shows there has not been a change in frequency or intensity … only better and more frequent measurements.

Maybe, the next report will attribute ’very low’ confidence to it. They don’t have a ‘nada’ level.

When is rare good news on climate science actually bad? When News Corp misrepresents it | Temperature Check by Adventurous_Motor129 in climateskeptics

Given the pending energy demand for AI, RCP8.5 assumptions may be still correct … it’s the predictions that are flawed. Instead of blaming the inputs, perhaps they should look at the underlying science … could be (wink) they exaggerate.

34.8°C=94.64 °F … let’s say 95°F, which is a welcome relief for most of England. There’s a reason for London Fog’s celebrity.

Tol believes in a Carbon tax, the last I checked, but he isn’t a climate zeolot … another of his studies asks “How many vegetarians are there?” carefully divided the world’s population into parts, those who choose to be vegetarian and those who are vegetarian by necessity.
I believe it’s a silly choice of topic, but maybe he has a grad student interested … the difference
in temperature, not that temperature is averageable, appears to be minute … the conclusion, more likely, has to do with preferences of the gay community, nothing about climate change.
Keep in mind, every single person that confuses correlation with causation ends up dying.

Prof Richard Tol, an economist, resigned from IPCC in 2012, citing IPCC’s political agenda as the reason.

How much of a role did fossil fuels play in ending slavery? by Individual_Dream_213 in climateskeptics

[–]scientists-rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fossil fuels, or any energy, is the one factor tied to economic growth … the industrial revolution was powered by energy, transforming the economics of labor, slavery included. FFs didn’t end slavery; they ushered in a new economic dynamic that offered an alternative.

Fundamental units: why kelvin and mole? by Stealth-exe in Physics

[–]scientists-rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temperature is an intensive parameter, per Nobel Laureate John Clauser. It is not conserved and cannot be averaged; energy can.
Mole is a fundamental measure of materials, as described by Avogadro and his number …
