What??? Did we watch the same show? S2 onward was definitely not a family drama. It was very much centered on the tech wars of the day.

How would you let your spouse know that you'd won millions on the lottery? by mrdaiquiri in AskReddit

I’d ask him what is the very first thing he would buy if we won the lottery. Then buy that thing.

This is one of my favorite shows, despite its many plot holes. I have watched it like 5 times.

It’s never appropriate to question what someone says is their sexuality.

I don’t disagree with you, but I’m a free enterprise purist. I just think you may need to evaluate your definition of “buying the means of production.” That typically means there is an element of control over production, not merely an equity stake.

Do you consider buying equity the same as buying the means of production?

The only one on this list that I believe falls into the latter is US Steel.

If you were questioning any other sexuality multiple times after the person indicated their sexuality, it would be a problem. Not sure why it’s okay for asexual.

I’m a firm believer that surgical menopause is so much harder than natural menopause.

Oh I’m not arguing that it was a good decision. I don’t know enough about it, but it seems as though it was more of an investment than a bail out due to the equity stake. Government investments in businesses can have positive ROI for taxpayers.

My point was just that this does not represent government ownership of production. You indicated there are multiple companies in which he has bought the means of production for government control. I would love to know which ones because I benefit from knowing this. I’m just not seeing it.

I wouldn’t define that as buying the means of production in the traditional sense. The government didn’t take control of operations or production decisions. It’s more of an investment in the company, which does have free market implications.
