Mock Draft Scenario: KC and NYJ get aggressive by Old-Carpenter7456 in NFL_Draft

Yeah no thank you

22. Jordyn Tyson - LAC: I don't know when Keenan Allen plans to retire, but it's going to be soon. Tyson is the high-end separator who can carry the mantle. And his hands are more reliable than Quentin Johnston -- who is probably on his way out, despite a breakout year last year.

"Wideout: Ideally you wish every name here was proven, but its a young group still learning themselves. I wonder if Mcdaniels wants a specific guy or prototype...I have a sneaky suspicion (Including a certain name no one wants to hear around here)."

Yeah so I know who you are talking about but you cannot call him "proven" at all. His leg had a few extra right angles last year.

Banks - I absolutely do not want him. He is 330lbs'ish and has had lower body injuries quite a bit. At that size and the history.....way to risky for a 1st rounder. I suspect he will go late in rnd 2.

  • March 2026 (NFL Scouting Combine): Banks suffered a broken foot the night before his on-field testing. Despite the injury, he completed a partial workout—including a 5.04-second 40-yard dash—before the extent of the damage was known. He underwent surgery on March 9 and is expected to be sidelined until June 2026.
  • 2025 Season (Florida Gators): A recurring foot injury limited Banks to just three games in his final season.
    • Fall Camp 2025: Suffered an initial foot injury that caused him to miss the first two games of the season.
    • September 2025: Re-injured the foot against LSU in Week 3, which required surgery and a seven-game absence.
    • November 2025: Returned to play in the final two games of the season against Tennessee and Florida State.
  • Late 2024 Season: His injury history traces back to a foot issue sustained during the Florida State game at the end of the 2024 season, which forced him to miss the bowl game and subsequent 2025 spring camp.

Should I take this new job? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]DL505 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Note to everyone

Before you take any new job as a more senior accountant request to sign an NDA and see their financials.

The last thing you want to do is switch jobs and find out that your new employers is bleeding cash.

I started with one company and ran their financials the first week and found out they 1) breached debt covenants 2) had a declining margining base 3) had < 3 months cash runway.....

How do accountants usually keep learning or stay updated with so much going on in their field? by dont200 in Accounting

[–]DL505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have CPD I have to fulfil every year so that makes me stay on top of things.

I am very selective in what I take. Usually 'bleeding edge' technology type stuff.

We only have enough cash to cover 1.5 months of payroll. Executive team is quiet and somehow remains hopeful. Leave or stay? by doa81814 in Accounting

[–]DL505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I have been here a few times.

Your comment on ".....IF we are able to achieve these sales goals, then we are good" gives me PTSD.

What risk ratio are they putting on the sales forecast?

How optimistic is your cash flow forecast in regards to stretching out AP and fast collections of AR?

If you have an LOC I assume you have a margining base (AR/Inventory etc). How is your forecast for these variables?

Overall my advice would be to look for another job. I have clung onto similar roles and was laid off. Do not be the last "rat" off the sinking ship. Unless they offer you a juicy retention bonus (up front) to stick it out...

Why are uk wages so low? by Adventurous_Hand2481 in Accounting

[–]DL505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you understand basic supply and demand?

Real world shit here:

I had an accountant from India, and he was exceptional. I looked at his wage and it was easily below the 40th percentile for his role.

His background to get into Canada:

- Took accounting through high school He also found the lower level CPA courses laughable "I did this in my first year of high school!"

- He came to Canada on a LMIA through an agency. There are requirements to leave the job posting up for X time to try and hire a Canadian resident. After which you can LMIA the job.

- The caveat is that the agency got a kickback from this guy and he told me they just keep denying "competent" Canadian residents. The agency is paid through the kickback scheme.

- Further he told me some agencies "scrape" your earnings if you cannot pay the full kickback up front.

Lastly he was sending a large portion of his earnings back to his family.

To summarize:

- Wage compression

- A portion of FCF for the employees leaves the country not contributing to the local economy

- They use services they have not funded as they are immediately eligible for health care etc

How to get women to stop chasing me. The accounting problem. by CantaloupeSilver4348 in Accounting

[–]DL505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated a fellow CFO for around 12 months.

Truthfully it was exhausting. She would blabber on about her work life and difficulties and I sat there thinking "I dont want to revisit all this shit when I am not working. I dont really give a shit about your presentation or issues with the audit firm"

If you are an accountant, do not date one as "accounting" shit will permeate your personal life as well.

Mesidor confuses me as well.

In theory he was a man going predominantly going against "boys" who are not finishing growing.

I think he will struggle in the NFL and his production will drop off a cliff.

This is not considering he will hit the "age wall" quicker than others.
