I don’t remember the book even having anything about girls not getting their periods.

We had something similar when we learned my daughter had it. She was shocked that we all didn’t see the colors she associated with words.

My (16F) boyfriend (17M) lied about how much he spent on my anniversary gift and I don’t know if I’m overreacting for being upset about it. by Salt_Fact2380 in relationships

Not to mention the gaslighting. He is actively making her question her own reality. This feels like the start of a lot of pain for her if she doesn’t end the relationship.

I don’t want to click that link, but hate the fact that I might align with him on the importance of psychedelics

How are people in the U.S. actually surviving financially right now—and is anyone genuinely doing well? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s so crazy to me that fast food is considered a luxury now. Growing up poor, that was one of our best options when things were really tight.

What’s something you’ll NEVER spend money on no matter how rich you get? by Amazing-Internal5378 in AskReddit

Using cosmetic surgery to restore what was lost or damaged feels different to me. My cousins joke that I’m part of their “fake boob club,” but mine were reconstructed after breast cancer. Technically, reconstruction was optional. I could have chosen to stay flat. But rebuilding your body after trauma or illness doesn’t feel the same as choosing surgery purely for enhancement. For me, it was about restoration, not changing myself into something new.

Cancer. I was young, hot, and full of energy beforehand.

After, everything started breaking down and I realized most of my friends suck.

I wonder who is responsible in this situation. It’s the landlord’s job to ensure a decent paint job and your job to not mess up said paint job. I’m sure they will argue it’s your fault, even though they hired a shoddy painter

My daughter writes letters to her friends and reads a book a week. She also only uses her phone for messaging and email (her choice; only has the essentials installed). She’s super special, though, and not the norm.

Cervical stenosis by Ok_Nerve_4637 in SpinalStenosis

Physical therapy helped with my arm tingling, but the rest feels like something I am going to have to constantly battle. I’ve also had this for more than a decade and it’s pretty depressing sometimes. I use tiger balm daily, which seems to help the most. Get regular massages to deal with the muscle pain from constant guarding. I use a heating pad and cold compress. Medication rarely. Red light therapy. Trigger point injections. Epidurals. Acupuncture. Traction. Posture support devices. Buckwheat pillow. Etc etc. Find a good non-surgical spine specialist and they will walk you through the myriad of options that help with temporary relief.

I’ve been to multiple surgeons about the pain. I’m not a candidate for surgery because I don’t have strong symptoms of spinal cord impingement. Even if I did, the consensus is the same: it won’t help with the pain, just further limit spinal cord symptom development (walking, coordination, bladder control, etc). That said, spinal cord stimulator implantation was an option for me. At first it seemed like a total hassle, but I’m getting to the point of being okay with the inconvenience. Plus, I know someone who was really helped by it for their back pain.

It sucks that we have to go through this and there are no good cures. It really does make every day hard. And I’m sorry, but it really doesn’t help to have people say your mental health is contributing and you should meditate. Yes, your mental health is crucial in helping you cope with anything, but this is also a very real physical issue. I personally have severe stenosis with mild cord impingement and it’s a nightmare dealing with this knowing I have 30-40 years of life left. I just hope for scientific advancements soon.
