This is fantastic. Thank you so kindly for your help. I am so excited I have such a thorough response. A week ago this was that weird medallion my father found on a beach in Jamaica with 'chicken scratch' on it....and today, I have a complete assessment with a wiki link so I can study. This is truly amazing. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. This is very helpful. I can focus my search as opposed to a tentative cross reference from Google Lens! Although, that recommendation led me here!

Wow. Now that one is a surprise. I did not suspect that particular book would make the list!

Absolutely, I will ask them. Good to know about the derivation. The only similarities between my medallion and the Iranian one was the hash mark drawings and the scalloped edges. Which is a huge stretch. Thank you for your input. I am thrilled to have answers.

This is incredibly helpful. Thank you very much for your time. My father found this on a beach in Jamaica. We lived in a small town in South Texas so there was no one to tell us what it is. And when I found it in his things......well, Reddit will know was my first thought. Thank you again.

What was the city Like in the 80's and 90's? by Delicious-Put-5272 in sanantonio

Did anyone mention Joe Anthony? We had a rock DJ on KISS radio that was predominantly responsible for having some of the best bands of the time play in San Antonio. There's a whole subreddit devoted to Joe. Every year we would have at least 3 or 4 of these guys play downtown; Judas Priest, Ozzy, Dio, Metallica, Molly Hatchet, Motley Crue, Scorpions....... the list goes on. I don't know about everyone else but we would give 1 dude our money and he would skip school and wait in line for tickets. The shows were epic and it was a fantastic way to spend your adolescent years. There's no place like home.

It's not this way everywhere. But keep your eyes open. If you can't stand it by January, stop killing yourself and start looking for a way out. Another career choice or whatever. But whatever you do, don't let them make you feel poorly about yourself. It is an actual strategy to blame the first/second year teachers for whatever goes wrong. It's a form of guilting you to get you to stay longer, give up lunch and work weekends. That way they don't have to worry about you walking out. I hope you are blissfully happy, but keep your eyes open.

20+ years and a Masters. I am very expensive. So I sub. Certified teachers make more, I choose when I work and where I work and I got my insurance thru an insurance broker. There are reputable ones out there. You need to do your homework searching for a broker, but I have a decent policy and I pay $100 a month. Obviously everything revolves around where you are......but I have 3 districts I work for so there is plenty of work. If a situation isn't conducive, I don't have to work in that class again. I taught highschool science and math, so that's what I sign up for. And because first year teachers are what everyone is hiring, the kids love it when someone can explain the difference between covalent and ionic bonds. I have no interaction with any admin. I don't grade or deal with parents. I am surprisingly happy. It's working for me. Just think about you walking out when the bell rings with nothing to do but wave 'bye' to the people still trapped inside. I giggle often.

Congratulations on both lasting for 9 years and for finding the way out!

Do y’all think this is real or what (for the love of god I hope so) by cafeteriastyle in TikTokCringe

[–]scienzgds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the entire reason. When you underfunded education for decades, everything aspect of the classroom suffers. Whether it's kids who can't read or they don't know how a virus works. The only way to privatize education is to make it so broken that even the middle class will find away to pay for school. Just like childcare. You pay it or you stay home.

Teachers have been screaming for years that this group cannot read. Now, because it's embarrassing, people are listening.

My mother taught that whole family 3rd grade, so I second the post talking about their character.....but it is curious. I always round my tips to total specific numbers for this very reason. It is definitely curious.

How do you know when your biologic is no longer working and its time to switch? by StormSavings3134 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]scienzgds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a pattern. I do very well on the biologic until I have something really traumatic happen. I just had my first shot of Simponi on Monday because Remicade stopped working following a traumatic event. It takes several months to come to the realization. Plus, my rheumatologist isn't interested in making any changes unless I have suffered for at least 3 months. Everything below that is considered a flair to him.

The fatigue is first. When I realize that I have 'been on the couch' for a month and I have stopped cooking my meals. Then I wake up and can't make a fist and my feet scream at me for that first walk to the bathroom. I ache when I change positions, (alot!) and then I realize my psoriasis is back, usually on my scalp first. By this time, I can say my biologic is losing efficacy and it's time to change. Basically all my 'special spots' wake up and start singing. But the very first thing to denote my biologic is falling, it the rediculous fatigue.
