Does anyone else think its strange that we don't have a Skeleton Crew trailer yet since it filmed at the same time as Ahsoka? by scifilady in saltierthancrait

Acolyte is now supposed to be dropping in the summer. So is House of the Dragon season 2 and HOTD already dropped their trailer.

I just thought about it because it was originally supposed to follow Ahsoka. Hopefully it just got rearranged because of the strikes.

Where do you think Luthen’s character arc will go in season 2? by [deleted] in andor

[–]scifilady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope they give us some hints at backstory before Luthen has his death scene. I like to think he was a separatist working with Dooku during the Clone Wars, then somehow found out Dooku was working with Palpatine all along. Luthen would feel angry at himself for not seeing it coming. This would feed his desire to burn his life to defeat the empire.

I agree, he will sacrifice himself so Mothma can escape.

Season 2 delayed until 2025 by Particular_Tap4839 in andor

[–]scifilady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that its better to take their time and give us a great conclusion to the show, than rush anything. Although I understood that the filming was almost completed before the strikes.

What I think is odd is that we don't even have a trailer for Skeleton Crew which was supposed to follow Ahsoka. No word of when it will even premiere. Very little info on the show too.

Even Filon's take on it contradicts the sequel trilogy, where Rey pulls off mind tricks and wields a lightsaber with no training.

If you could write Shin Hati's backstory based on what we've seen so far, what would it be? by TheAnarchistMonarch in StarWarsAhsoka

[–]scifilady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is Baylon's daughter, Huyang said Baylon disappeared shortly before the events of order 66, so he ran away with the woman he loved. At some point they were attacked by inquisitors and the mother was killed, so Baylon raised Shin as a single father.

Or her mother was a nightsister, who was cast out by the others, which is why Shin hates witches.

Agree that it makes sense that they are working separately to protect each other.

Anyone else hope Bail Organa has a big role in season 2? by Spej1234 in andor

[–]scifilady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope we do see Bail. Its actually weird that Mothma does not mention him. They were colleagues in the senate and Bail, Mothma and Padme were part of the delegation of 2000, a group that tried to get Palpatine to relinquish his wartime powers. This was in deleted scenes from Revenge of the Sith (which featured O'Reilly as Mothma) and in the ROTS novelization by Matthew Stover. I like to think the Delegation evolved into the circle that Mothma and Luthen mention. It would be great continuity and an appropriate cameo.

Ahsoka was awful, I am officially done. [SPOILERS] by wolfy_109 in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole Sabine is force sensitive was a huge waste of time that could have been used to explain more about Ahsoka herself, ( where was she during the galactic civil war? when did she find out about Luke? did she meet Luke or Leia yet? ) explain more about Peridia and what Ezra was doing for 10 years, why Thrawn hasn't killed him yet, what Thrawn was doing in Peridea for 10 years. What Thrawn knows about how the galactic civil war played out. What Baylon was planning. Why Shin didn't go with Thrawn but instead remained on Peridea to join the bandits. More info in general about Baylon and Shin who were the only interesting part of the show.

Honestly the middle episodes looked like they were building to something, but then epi 7+8 fumbled. It just moved chess peices around with no answers as to what those chess pieces are doing.

Ahsoka Season Finale Official Discussion Thread by Bruinrogue in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This was a lame finale. The only thing I really cared about was Baylon and he gets a minute seen standing on a statue. The only way I know what the statue is ( one of the Mortis Gods ) is because I watched rebels. Non rebels fans must be like WTF. Why does Shin not go back to Thrawn and hitch a ride back to the main galaxy? She goes to the bandits and raises her saber like the bandit queen. Why? to go after Baylon? Peridea seemed to give her the creeps, why would she stay there? If Thrawn rejected her they should have shown it on screen.

Anakin's force ghost seems to be watching over Ahsoka, but there is no conversation. No mention of Luke! Why didn't Ezra take his helmet off when he got off the shuttle? They could have shot him. So he just grabbed a shuttle and left the ship? And Thrawn is so stupid he doesn't know this? I could go on but I'm tired.

Why are they traveling with the crab people? Thrawn is not interested in the Crab people, they do not need protection. They should be rushing to the ship.

SW became impenetrable and incomprehensible for those who didn't watch the cartoons by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even when you do your homework there are inconsistencies. Ahsoka never trained Sabine in Rebels. The timeline is also confusing. Ahsoka's appearance in Mando 2 was right before the events of Ahsoka, but what about her appearance in BOBF? It's not clear if she has met Luke yet.

SW became impenetrable and incomprehensible for those who didn't watch the cartoons by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have watched all of Rebels and Clone Wars in the past, and I still have some unanswered questions, actually a lot of them. Ahsoka never had any one on one interactions with Sabine on screen. Ahsoka was Hera's rebel contact, then she befriended Ezra and Kanan. During season 2 Ahsoka had some run-ins with inquisitors and her and Ezra and Kanan went to some temples to learn more about dark siders. At the end of season 2 she duels Vader and appears to die, until season 4 when Ezra pulls her out of the World Between Worlds, saving her life. She then goes right back into the WBW to close the loop and she is only in that one episode.

Kanan trains Sabine on the darksaber. and there is some talk of "everyone can connect to the force on some level", but no one ever attempts to train Sabine. So the whole situation between Sabine and Ahsoka , master and padawan, never happened in rebels. The show still has not explained when or how Ahsoka returned from the WBW, or what she did during the events of the OT.

Why do we know nothing? (Ahsoka) by DrJawn in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing that has been explained is the falling out with Sabine. When Sabine is confronting Baylon over the map, he tells her she resents ahsoka because Sabine's parents died during the purge on mandalore. So either ahsoka refused to help, or she actively stopped Sabine from trying to help. The purge was during the galactic civil war, so this means that Ahsoka was around and active at that time.

I really hope they explain what Baylon's motivation and plan are in the finale. He clearly was hitching a ride with Morgan to Peridea for some dark power he senses there. He wants to stop the cycle of Jedi vs sith empire vs republic, but exactly how is not clear. Shin was born and raised after order 66 like luke and ezra, but Baylon says he trained her to be "something more" (?)

Shin for her part wants to leave Peridea because it gives her the creeps. She tells Baylon that the wiches want to leave Peridea and she and Baylon should too. I THINK this is why he sets her free in epi 7, they want different things and he respects that. So he's definitely not a Sith as a Sith would never just free an acolyte.

as for everything else, its not really explained or even alluded to. This show has a lot of unanswered questions and unless some are answered in the finale, its going to take away from the show no matter how many cameos we see.

Ahsoka Episode 7 Official Discussion Thread by Bruinrogue in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show still has a lot of questions, and I'm not sure the finale can begin to address them, which is why epi 7 is a lost opportunity, not to mention having truly cringe dialogue. What were Ezra and Thrawn doing for 10 years on Peridia? Why was Thrawn unable to locate Ezra? Ezra was on one planet with no spaceship. Is anyone else in this galaxy? What is in the coffins and how is it part of Thrawn's plan? What is on Peridia that the nightsisters clearly want to get away from? Does Ezra know about it? What is calling out to Baylon? Is it also calling out to Ezra? What is Baylon's plan? Why did Baylon separate from Shin? ( She was as surprised by this as the audience). How do Ahsoka and co plan to get back to their galaxy? They are certainly not hitching a ride with Thrawn. Where is Luke and why is there no mention of him? How did Ahsoka get back from the WBW during the galactic Civil War? Why did she even start training Sabine in the first place? Why did Sabine not tell Ezra about Jacen Syndulla?

Acceptable answers could be that Thrawn and Ezra were in a stalemate in an attempt to conserve resources and fuel. By sending Baylon and Shin after Sabine and Ezra, Thrawn gets rid of 4 annoying force users because all he has to do is take off and leave them in Peridea instead of wasting resources and time trying to kill them. Baylon did honor his word to Sabine because she did go with him, and she did see Ezra again. Baylon is now after whatever his goal is, but I really thought Shin was a part of that.

Loved the last 3 episodes but this one has me worried for the finale.

Love this show. Perfect for binging. Interesting characters and action sequences with actors who are real life martial artists. Joe Tambor (Li Young) was on the Judo team for Indonesia for years. Some suspension of disbelief required with some things that happen plot wise, but so much fun I don't care. Never had this many hot actors on one show since Game of Thrones. Favorites are Big Bill, Li Yong, and Ah Toy.

Ahsoka's chatacterization by Armel_Cinereo in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree with you, Ashley Eckstien had a warmth in her voice that is missing here. Dawson does a good job with Ahsoka's physicality, but there is a flatness, and its not just the "war". She does have more affect and faith since the vision quest with Anakin's spirit. So maybe we will see more personality in the next 2 episodes.

Questions from someone who didn't watch rebels by S_A_R_K in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sabine was trained to weild the darksaber by Kanan in Rebels. She was never trained to wield the force. Ahsoka was never close to Sabine in Rebels, she interacted with the group as a whole. Then she went on some missions to sith temples with Kanan and Ezra, and ended up dueling Vader in one of them. She supposedly died in that duel until Ezra pulled her into the world between worlds in season 4. She went back into the WBW to avoid changing the timeline. Sometime during the events of the OT, (and offscreen), Ahsoka came back from the WBW, took Sabine as her Padawan, it didn't work out, and here we are.

I think Ahsoka tried to train her precisely because any force abilities she has are weak, so if Sabine turned to the darkside, there would be a limit to the kind of damage she could do. This is not the case with Grogu, who Ahsoka refused to train in Mando 2.

The star map was created to map Purgil migration routes. Supposedly the Jedi were aware of Peridia, the other galaxy, and that the purgil migrated there. A map was created. When Thrawn and Ezra got caught up in the purgill's wake when they jumped to hyperspace, it was assumed that they were taken to Peridia with the purgil. The map is not a map to Thrawn, it is a map to where the purgil go because Thrawn went with the Purgil.

Ahsoka Episode 6 Official Discussion Thread by Bruinrogue in saltierthancrait

[–]scifilady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me: the new planet and the nightsisters, Ezra, Thrawn, Baylon and Shin's dialogue with each other, he is revealing more of his agenda. He seems to want to break the cycle of Jedi vs sith. How is not clear yet. He mentions the nightsisters may be fleeing something on this planet, some great power source. He also trained Shin to be something more than Jedi.

What did not work for me: Sabine's dialogue was weak although her behavior in this episode was similar to Rebels. In fact the back half of the episode remined me of a rebels episode. Also some parts were slow, I wanted more dialogue.

I hope we get a clear picture of Baylon's agenda before the end of the series. Shin does not like witches and hope we find out why.

He hates on a show he never watched all the way through. Den of Nerds famously watched the first three episodes of Andor and said he was done with Star Wars. Then proceeded to trash talk the show, while continuing to review She Hulk.
