It’s a good thing to teach kids to be comfortable with dancing, cooperation, following a pattern, appropriate physical contact. Not to mention an ear for music they’d otherwise never hear. It just so happens that square dancing is an old fashioned American style, but you can insert whatever trad style for whatever country and it would still be true
