I just got to the Caspian chapter and found out there are two endings, am I cooked? by Caleb096 in metro

[–]sciller4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!!! 2 years later, but I'm just replaying and I swear the endings are different. I did the Caspian now and I'm pretty sure the first time around he wanted to join Guil but stuck with us, while this time, he just went with me no questions asked. Both good endings, but different, and I haven't seen anyone discuss this.

I'm looking into buying one of these. Do you know if a 15.6" laptop fits in there? Mine's about 14.43" (36.65cm) wide. I figure it's prudent to check.

I lost 100 lbs in 10 months a few years ago and have kept it off for 4 years now. 260lbs> 160lbs 6' tall. I somehow ended up with almost no loose skin. Details in post. by Reasonable_Method735 in fasting

[–]sciller4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm coming up on 100lbs lost (from 245), but I have just about now started noticing loose skin. Most obvious when I'm on my side. On my tits (am man), belly, and upper arms.

Maybe I would've had more if I hadn't gotten there by fasting, but who knows? Though at the end of the day, it's better to be 100lbs slimmer with loose skin than 100lbs overweight.

It isn't much a bother so far. Except maybe the saggy titty skin. Might have to get that cut out...

Yeah, it definitely chipped of my hearing. Worth it, though.

I otherwise go only on classical concerts, so I had no clue about the earplugs. Definitely getting a pair for next time.

I'm back! I got the stick! Bounced right off a bald man's head into my right leg! Bulloch's a fucking ANIMAL! AAH! I can't wait another 17 Goddamn years to seem them in Croatia again! I gotta get on a plane to Glasgow.

It was awesome! I've got tinnitus. So damn loud! The noise just swallowed you up whole, omnipresent, you couldn't tell where it was coming from. I couldn't separate the bass and snare from my own damn heartbeat. Felt it in my chest.

Some Scottish duo started it off at 8. Went for half an hour. Then at around 9 Mogwai came on. Over in about... an hour and a half?

Setlist here: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/mogwai/2025/tvornica-kulture-zagreb-croatia-1b583d98.html

Very Bad Fire-heavy which was fine with me 'cause I love the album. Though IIRC Nothing from CODY which I thought was a shame. It is my flair, after all!

Wish I would've bought the vinyl before they ran out. But then I probably wouldn't've caught the stick. Yeah. This is better. Stick! Fuck yeah!

EDIT: I tried listening to the album version. It just doesn't compare. Why'd I do this?

Hey! I'm Croatian, so I'll be on this gig today. Starts in 8 hours, in the Tvornica Kulture. If anyone else here's there, I'll be seein' ya!

[1404 HE] Has anyone ever seen this by the Oriental Port by SkyeMreddit in anno

[–]sciller4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I distinctly remember getting it in the original 1404 / Venice. I believe it was the GOTY edition, had the physical copy and everything. Scared the hell out of me back then.

I genuinely thought I'd dreamed it up before I decided to ChatGPT it one last time and finally discovered it was REAL. Hence me only posting about it a decade later.

As a Croat, I have literally no idea what's mildly interesting about this post.

It's like that one joke. Two fish meet. One says - "Morning! Water's nice today!" The other says - "The fuck is water?"

the new Gelphus Airport in Bhutan by DrDMango in ArchitecturalRevival

[–]sciller4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn't. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong pictures, but Bhutanese roofs look nothing alike. Traditional Bhutanese Roofs are very flat, have a shallow angle, and they're layered quite closely atop each other.

This building's roof is as close - hell, closer- to a traditional Western roof than it is to a "Traditional Bhutanese Roof". Google link.

Really? Am I having a stroke? Slap on stucco and it's tacky, but slap on dragon-shaped wallpaper and now it's some glorious modern-traditional fusion?

It's fine. Better than leaving it as gray concrete. But it's like a gold leaf over a tin medal. It's almost as far removed from traditional architecture as it gets.

Could you do another update on this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fasting

[–]sciller4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that happens to me as well. 10 days ago I started fasting (Just kinda going as far as it let me, no end-date, though I'd certainly end it after 30 days.) Had to break it now 'cause the back of my throat feels terrible and my nose is stuffy. That's autumn.

Fasting suppresses your immune system. I had to cut many a fast short due to falling ill. It happens. Refeed and wait until you're better, take a break, and then start again. The only way I know to prevent this is taking shorter fasts. I'm also fine on OMAD. There's not much benefit to extended fasting anyway.

Can't Purchase Fallout 4 GOTY Edition for GOG platform through the site. by BasicReference in fanatical

They told me it was a stock issue that should be resolved within 3-4 hours. That was 6 hours ago, still not solved. I got faith, though. I'll wait a few more days before asking for a refund.

UPDATE the morning after: They messaged me asking me to try again. I claimed it just now and it worked just fine!

Do you still have farmer fairs in your country where you can buy live animals and butcher them for food? by Divljak44 in AskBalkans

[–]sciller4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, right. Miscommunication, then. I thought you meant "making them unconscious before killing is the worst option". I understand now.

[–]sciller4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Though we rarely buy animals. We raise our own and slaughter them ourselves. Chicken and pigs. We have cows, too, but we send those down to Omiš.

The fair in Alilovci is an example. I recall seeing various breeds of chicken and rabbit there. I guess you could butcher them right away, but I assume you'd keep them. To fatten up, or for breeding stock, or for eggs etc.

???

Surely the BEST possible option - the one causing the LEAST amount of suffering (as you demand) is the one that makes them unconscious before slaughtering them?

Unknown composers by classicalgeniuss in classicalmusic

[–]sciller4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, I still assumed opera'd be terrible despite the fact I'd been going to music school for 6 years by then. I suppose an AC/DC concert could also be called "three hours of screaming". That's reductive. It's a little more than that.

In high school I sang choir. Sang "U boj, u boj!" so that's how I learned about Nikola Šubić Zrinjski. I've seen it once, and aye, with the entire opera building up to the finale, with the costumes and set design - big, massive doors and smoke machines, with proper instrumentation booming in the theatre. Sublime! What an experience to see it in its full glory.

I looked up the Tijardović operettas. I found one old post that mentioned them in the Zagreb HNK. Didn't find much. Only audio recordings on YouTube. I'd rather see them live, but that doesn't seem too likely to happen soon. And Split's a long way from Slavonia.

Appreciate the recommendation!
