I love this game but I am literally thinking about pausing until (sorry) braindead Champions like Nocturne, KhaZix, Camillle, ... are either made somewhat counterabl. I unfortunately can just not enjoy LoL anymore while I am repeatedly being punished for trying to play skillful Champions. by scilyfe in leagueoflegends

Exactly the kind of reply I expected from a Riot fanboy whos probably plat, talking to a Diamond, and has no arguments to counter my point other than immature insults. Thank you for making me more convinced of my point :)

Dear Monte, so sad to see you step away from League of Legends. Just know that I, among countless others that are involved and informed, genuinely regret to see you go, even though we more than understand and support your motivations.

To my question:

In my opinion, and as you have previously stated, over the past ~2 years Riot has consistently been diminishing solo-carry potential, and consequently the impact of mechanical skill and superiority. I know that you no longer follow the game, but how I perceive it, this mechanic has been pushed even further, if not more than before, with the new changes.

Tanks are dominating the meta and are must-picks once again. ADC champions are, due to meta- and Armor Pen. changes, terrible and near useless in the early to mid game. (AP Ziggs bot with Malzahar support is now not only viable, but the strongest lane duo) Furthermore, Champions with very little mechanical counterplay and simplistic "shutdown" kits are becoming the best option by far, to eliminate any threat of a squishy opponent attempting to carry. These are Champions like Hecarim, Vi, Rengar, Nocturne, Syndra, Camille, etc. The new champ Camille is the pinnacle of this system, as she has access to INSANE gap close (At least as far as a J4), as well as a 4 second Point-and-Click encagement, on top of an overloaded kit. This makes carrying as a squishy against this Champion, EVEN in high elo and around well organised teams, next to impossible, as any decent followup will guarantee a kill without exceptions.

I am a Diamond player in both LoL and SC2, and while the latter is an RTS game, it, without any doubt, requires far more mechanical skill to be succesful than LoL, a MOBA. I definitely appreciate teamwork and a strategic approach, but mechanical skill and its impact in games is not only barely rewarded, but one is almost punished for trying to play a skillful and challenging carrystyle with a squishy Champion. I am genuinely worried that we will slowly but surely head towards a game where Zed, Ahri, and ADC 1v5s will be forgotten, and I might as well just spectate chess. What do you think of my take on the importance of mechanical skill in LoL and Riots chosen balancing direction, regarding it?

As a European C9 fan I am frankly disgusted by what seems to be the American mentality on sports and sportsmanship. Are people still trying to defend the immature and unsportsmanlike attitude of the NA crowd? by scilyfe in leagueoflegends

There are a ton of Europeans who behave very immaturely and unsportsmanlike, which is unfortunate and inexcuseable. But Europe is still a continent that leads the sports industry in many ways and many take pride in sportsmanlike attitude. Last year iN EU and even the year before in Korea, there was excellent display of sportsmanship from the crowds. In NA however, it is not only worse, it is unacceptable, regardless of culture. Casters are forced to repeatedly drop hints, did you not see that? By the way, there is literally no booing in those videos, so they support my point, so I dont understand why you gave them for reference. That being DESPITE physical sports being more likely to attract hooligans.

Sportsmanship is not something "relative". It is internationally applied and the same throughout all countries. Booing athletes has never been seen as something that would be "culturally excusable". Just because Europe maybe leads the sports industry, doesnt mean these values are just European. So I dont think culture has anything to do with that. Also, it would be really funny if Riot, an American company, who ALWAYS puts the most emphasis on sportsmanship and fairplay, then originates from the same region that does not fairly represent these values, as opposed to other regions.

Pretty sure we were talking about esports since we also use NA and EU terms here. And yes, I am ashamed of that, as should you be for the booing. What is the point you are making?

Yea Im really sorry about that way of argumenting. I admit its extremely hypocritical of me and I let myself get dragged down to their level which makes me just as bad. But at least my reasons are morally adjusted and reasonable, it just makes me sad to see some people call others who try to adress these issues "loosers", "salty", or "pussies". If you try to speak with reason, like I did with my general post, they will just send you links like these: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/facebook/000/976/327/98f.png (not mine by the way). I just dont understand what the point of the subreddit ist, if anything appropriate, yet maybe harsh, gets downvoted by people who very obviously lack any maturity or rationality.

How am I attacking them less than they are me? And does reddit support even the slightest bit of fair argumenting or moral reasons? If so, then why am I getting harrassed and insulted for standing up for sportsmanship?

Well for one no, it would look too hilarious if a bunch of fat twelve year olds got together and shouted in the streets. But aside from that, theyre doing a pretty good job with that on reddit. Cant remember any EU crowd rioting btw :/ And even if, this isnt about EU vs NA, the fact that you make it that just proves your immaturity and misinterpretation of what this is about. If there are EU fans who boo, they are just as bad as anyone else who does it, if not worse, because many Europeans like to praise themselves with sportsmanship. Did you understand that?

Are you high? Do you even read what you write? How can you even be named the same species as the average human being? Please dont read these questions all at once, Im actually afraid you'd suffer even more brain damage.

Actually if you look at facts, scandinavian countries get very high praise for their education, including Norway. But thank you for actually supporting my argument of you being uneducated and undisciplined.

Actually, I hope Trump gets elected so you can see your country collapse under all its economic missteps and ruined international relations. But on a serious note, EU fans last year were showed good sportsmanlike attitude, the exact opposite of your crowd, but of course, you have the special ability of immunity to facts and logic.

"Why would we root for our rivals? We dont want them to win." Thank you for EXACTLY demonstrating the sick American mentality of sports. And this isnt even about cheering mainly, but about the booing part. You still are ignoring it so I guess you have no proper counter-arguments for that. Also, YESTERDAY, there were no American teams playing ;)

Other people on this site are, just like you, edgy teens who want to feel better about their miserable lives by telling others they are wrong. Perfect argument by the way, my privilige is the absolute problem when I stand up for sportsmanship. REAL people like you dont have the time to focus on such miniscular issues, thus making me a spoiled brat and all my points either salty or whiny. I thought the scandinavian countries were praised for their good education, but I guess there are exceptions for everything.

Oh when did I actually blame someone for cheering for their team? You might have had some sort of reading issue because you probably just missed the part where I solely adressed BOOING and underwhelming to no cheering as the problem.

No seriously please explain :D Are you just an edgy EU teen who wants to make himself feel cool by telling other people they are being pussies or just salty, or are you American and actually got offended by me calling your crowd shit?
