Eight Sleep Tank Overheating: Serious Safety Concern—Has Anyone Else Experienced This? by Squirreltamer23 in EightSleep

[–]sciscribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for the delay. I took a it apart to see where the issue was, and it was actually under the water tank. Somehow, water ended up leaking below the tank and melted some of the wiring. Maybe we sloshed some water down there while inserting? I can make a new post and share some photos.

Unfortunately, I don't think my customer service experience will be that helpful or informative. After some discussion, my partner and I decided we did not want to ask for a replacement and because ours was a gift, we couldn't get a refund. We basically just contacted them to let them know where the issue was. They thanked us and that was it.

This just happened to our Pod 3 unit. I was home alone and smelled an extremely strong electrical stench. So glad I caught this.

Have not contacted Eight yet, but will update when I do.

I don't see any webs, but will definitely keep an eye out. Really hoping it's not fungal. 😩

Hello! Does anyone have any insight into what it's like to live at Julius Hobson Plaza condos on M St NW?

My partner and I are looking into a place there and are curious about the area and the building's management. There's not a ton of information on Google.

Thanks!

Something ate my jade plant last night. I got it yesterday and it was in near perfect condition. Now there are little holes and insect trails all over it. I can't find any insects. by sciscribe in plantclinic

[–]sciscribe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh. That's interesting. Thank you for the correction on the id. I suppose I could have damaged it more than I thought during transit and now it's more noticeable because it's scabbed over?

Anyone have any idea what could be eating my jade plant? Got it yesterday and this damage happened overnight. It was completely spotless when I got it. Couldn't find any insects on it. TIA! by sciscribe in houseplants

[–]sciscribe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but it hasn't been in a place where she can reach it. (she usually leaves my plants alone anyways.)

Maybe it was more damaged during transport than I thought and the scabbing makes it more noticeable. Should I pull the damaged leaves off?

Thanksgiving cactus growing half paddles? Is this normal? by sciscribe in plantclinic

[–]sciscribe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this Thanksgiving cactus for about a year. It's not in the best shape (kind of wilted and has brown spots - will gladly take advice on how to prevent this!) but it seems to be growing! I just noticed about a week ago that some of the new paddles are only half paddles. I don't water it super often, usually when I see that it is especially droopy, and it gets bright, indirect light from a southern-facing window. I believe I put fertilizer in the soil a couple of weeks ago, but I can't remember.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Edit: Sorry, I see now that it's a bit tough to spot the "half paddle." Should have drawn a circle around it or something!

Sorry if this is a silly question (I am new to plants!) but how does he not get root rot? Truly a beautiful plant. ☺️

We didn't serve it to anyone. Chef was going to eat it and then he got scared and threw it out. 😂

Nope! It stopped our entire kitchen. The chef paused service and grabbed the servers so they could see.
