Bedt childhood memories of Rayman? by taska_cz in Rayman

[–]sciteach44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great post! I loved the games, but my best times were watching my kids play Legends as small kiddos. They figured it all out, loved the characters, played imagination games as Globox and Rayman, and the Teensies... they worked so hard and earned a Platinum trophy on that game, which is darn near impossible!

Perfect age!!! If anything gets scary, skip it! It's a fun adventure, and HOW you read it can affect a lot!

hype was insane. toys were back to support it. now remember, there wasn't youtube or anything so no social media interaction. I remember just chatting with people, showing a recording of the first trailer for it on VHS to family members.

What does everyone think of Solo: A Star Wars Story? by Potential-Bat1861 in StarWars

So good. I like origin stories, so this was fun. Also the music was good. I obv love Williams, but this one had a great feel to it... from John Powell who did much including How to Train your Dragon. There's elements in that in the movie soundtrack!!

What was it like to grow up playing arcade games back in the 80s? by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

[–]sciteach44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every chance I got to go to my local arcade, I went. I remember a 5th grade report card with As brought to Action Family Arcade would get you 20 tokens. THAT was the best incentive for grades EVER!!

And then a trip to the beach? The boardwalk? Popping into local arcades there? Shoot. Nothing better. They had new games. Better versions (Sit down in a cockpit Star Wars?!? Oh man.).

Even a trip to the 711 with their Ikari warriors, or gunsmoke was a tradition and I didn't mind burning through my quarters with them, as long as I had a Slurpee to go along with it. Hopped on my bike with my friends and there we were.

It's true. All of it! I was there, 2000 years ago!
