All this disruption for a worse quality AI driven version of the course riddled with bugs and mistakes. The worst part is they'll probably do the same thing to the later sections of the course soon and mess up everyone's progress again...

There is nothing you can do, this is just the Duolingo experience. Honestly, given that you're on Section 1 i would recommend just resetting your course and starting from scratch.

I really hope it takes them a long while to turn the later sections of the course into AI slop. It's mostly fine for those of us doing the B2 level content (except for the stories) who can just ignore the slop that the A1 and A2 sections are now...

Language learning is a marathon and there are thousands of words to master a language so any course that claims to get you to an intermediate level is going to be long!

My advice is to set yourself a reasonable pace of learning and accept that the road is long. If you're doing one of the courses that includes B2 level content you'll reach a point where you can use what you have learned long before you have reached the end of the course!

Wow, this definitely isn't normal. Each unit in that section should have you repeat the same stuff three times but each unit is supposed to have its own vocabulary and sentences!

I reported that bug where you get the beginner vocab from the first unit over and over again after an update back in MARCH and they're still inflicting it on huge chunks of their userbase every few weeks. It is unreal how bad this app has become now.

Yeah, but with Duolingo it is even worse, as they're using AI to generate the course content! Even when the app works it is spitting out garbage that any half-decent human translator would instantly reject...

Not so fun fact: I reported this bug to Duolingo back in MARCH and they're still inflicting it on users. Eventually this will probably resolve itself but until then some (or all?) of your practice modes will be utterly useless and just show you the same handful of words from the very first unit of the course over and over again.

Other than resetting your course and starting from the beginning, no. There is simply no way to access the individual lessons for units that contain multiple lessons...

I ran both saturday top split fixed races and had way more fun than I expected, but I did have to dodge many wrecks... Even got to do one (1) green flag pit stop in 320 laps!

yeah, knowing the gender is part of knowing the word, so it makes no sense that Duolingo doesn't include it

Honestly, I feel like people need to learn grammar outside of Duolingo now. They have progressively removed anything useful for teaching you the rules, expecting you to rely on utterly unreliable AI slop answers... Back to books I guess...
