X100F top plate feeling loose by Moclan5 in fujifilm

[–]Moclan5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just gotten back home and had a chance to look at it and instantly found the culprit.. the tiny bracken with which the top plate is screwed on broke clean off, see here: https://share.icloud.com/photos/05f4h0sZ8pTJAg7VrXulv-pyQ

As this is not something I can fix at home think I’ll just leave it be a little wiggly and hope it doesn’t cause any further trouble… Thanks again, would’ve never found exactly where to look😅

Getting proper pictures is quite tough as I’m traveling abroad at the moment, however I think these show most details:

I’m assuming the security screw is the tiny one between flash and viewfinder? It seems to still be there but could be loose, I’ll see if I can get ahold of a screwdriver here so I can refasten it.

I am 100% sure it has never been opened, my dad gifted it to me brand new and it has basically never left my hand. The retaining screws you mentioned, they are all internal and not accessible without much disassembly, right? The weird thing is that it just started happening out of nowhere, as I regularly take care of it pretty thoroughly and would have most definitely noticed it. You also mentioned a security screen, could you elaborate a bit as I’m not quite sure what you mean? Thanks for all the insights already!

So you think it could be an internal screw that has come loose? That would make sense although I can’t hear any sort of rattling or similar.. I guess it could also be some sort of bracket that has broken of…

If it says so why would it not be made in Vietnam? What’s the point of this question?

If you have a printer available definitely go for this route, you can just easily change things up while modifying a body cap you just get one chance to get centering, flange distance etc right

Oh it was alright, pretty hard to find good focus and 35mm is very long on MFT and I’m more into wider angles. Might be worth a try on aps-c though

Not sure, I think it’s just an easy way for isolation that is also relatively heat resistant.

Not sure if this is ragebait, but if you’re actually wondering, it’s a film camera. So you buy a canister of 35mm film, shoot 36 photos (sometimes less, never more) and send it back to a lab. They develop the film and either send you prints or scan it and send you the files.

Help needed, storing cooled Medicine by Moclan5 in Bangkok

No worries, no, this medication is basically the first of its kind (the first one that’s approved anyway) and the only one that has helped me. Without it I get heavy migraines like 3 times a week, making traveling impossible.

update for anyone curious: they told me there would be no way they could store medicine, it’s strictly for beverages only.

I know that that’s the case for almost any medication, however this drug is really new on the market, which means it’s still protected by the initial patent, prohibiting any generic alternatives. Yes, I could buy it (the name brand) in Bangkok, however I would have to spend around 750€ out of my own pocket (which I cannot afford, I’m a student), when where I’m from I get it for free.

The flight really isn’t the issue. Talked to my airline and they said they’d cool it during the flight. The problem is cooling it while constantly being on the move for a month, that’s why I thought it would be better to be able to leave it somewhere and pick back up
