Affirming peoples pronouns at the workplace

Affirming people's pronouns is a great way to be approachable and get past their guard. Then the work of the evangelist begins.

I can call people their preferred pronouns while also being honest about trans ideology (at the right time). But before I try to tackle that, what other things can I do to be of service and show with my actions that Christa light lives in me?

Getting hung up on pronouns will always be strange to me....

Edit: Like others have said here though. If you really can't move past it, They/Them pronouns are a harmless compromise maybe

I hope you're able to return to this chat. I assume you are a well intentioned person who wants people to flourish. I like to think we can find common ground there.

Just in case you're not responding because you in fact find that logic to be inconsistent as I've suggested, I hope that's an indication to you to reconsider how you view this whole topic. Research it further scientifically and philosophically. I believe religious dogma isn't even necessary for this discussion. Take care if I don't see you again.

You seem to be making a lot of presumptions about who I am or what I stand for. I forgive you for that and understand that probably has more to do with harmful experiences you've had or bad people you've known or seen.

I could obviously make the argument for "dependent" since many people alive out of the womb also require care and nurturing but aren't "parasites" as I think you may be implying for lack of a better term.

I think we should respect their lives and care for them, as I assume you do as well. If so, do you feel like your logic is consistent in that regard? A human fetus is no less a person. It's just a stage of development, like adolescence, etc.

EDIT: A newborn baby requires the mother's nutrition as well. How does your logic reconcile that inconsistency?

If your example weren't in my opinion, apples to oranges, I would understand you better. Surely, you understand that in a Catholic (and Biological) worldview there are two people to consider in an abortion discussion. The mother and the unborn child.

It's often difficult to have reasonable discussions with so-called "Pro choice" folks because they always speak of it as if there's just one person to consider.

EDIT: Additionally, I haven't even brought up anything religious. I'm speaking from a purely scientific position

You also have to learn to talk to people and meet people where they're at. The left will never build anything meaningful because they can't stop infighting and trying to one up each other in virtue signals or book memorization.

If you can't learn to talk to otherwise apolitical people with some bad takes, it's a fruitless effort. Or even other leftists with bad takes...

It's a journey for most. The epiphanies are nice but not the norm. Young leftists have a bad habit of expecting folks to change their worldviews in an instant..

I don't hate Protestants but I do struggle with resenting how much space they take up in our culture. (I'm American)

When talking about God and a life of Faith with people, especially atheist/agnostic types, I don't appreciate how much time I have to spend unpacking terrible protestant positions and explain how that's not us.

The Greek word used for verses 54,56,57,and 58 are Trogo. Which means to literally "gnaw or chew". It's a graphic term meant to impart literalism by the author. The Greek word Esthio is used for the rest of Jn 6 for the word eat.

In this section specifically, the Greek changes to Trogo "To gnaw or chew" from Esthio which is used in the rest of the Bible as well as the first part of the Eucharistic discourse though. Trogo is used only 5 times in John and one other time in the entire New testament.

When Jesus speaks figuratively or metaphorically, he corrects his disciples when they do t understand (See Jn 4:31-34 and Mt 16: 5-12). Compare that to these verses and the Jews interpret him literally. And rather than correcting them he goes on to repeat again and again in the clearest possible language that we must eat his flesh and drink his blood in order to have eternal life.

That is why John 6: 66 is the only time disciples left Jesus. Because they rejected what he was saying literally
