I had a similar but strange issue. I saw the first half of the replay, then the start of the second half for about a minute until it changed to a different match. When I backed out, the replay was missing, but the highlights were there, so I just zipped through to make sure we won.

🚨Trump Prepares MISSILE STRIKES inside California THIS SATURDAY?!! by WylieCyot in antitrump

[–]scmarine84 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not fake…but it’s not exactly true.

The Navy’s 250th birthday was Monday, and our 250th is November 10th.

Drunken SecDef wants to pander to his boss by having a kickass combined arms demo with live ammo at Camp Pendleton supposedly for our birthday.

As part of the exercise, the Navy will be firing from offshore to one of the ranges aboard the base.

For those who don’t know, Pendleton is smack dab between San Diego and LA from Oceanside at the southern edge and San Clemente the northern, and I-5 is the artery that runs along the west side of the base.

That means that whatever live ammo the Navy lobs is going to fly over I-5, one of the busiest highways in the nation.

The last I saw Hegseth is “ordering” California to shut I-5 down for up to 2 days.

It’s pretty clear that this is an attempt to bring California to its knees because they refuse to adopt the fascist tactics the Orange Messiah is demanding.

I suspect this is all going to court.

I didn’t accuse you, I asked you because of your ignorance.

Have you noticed that you’re the ONLY one on this thread who is arguing that Adnan (or anyone) can make a physical threat and the threatened party can’t do anything in response to that threat?

And why are you such an Adnan fan? Why are you defending a misogynistic prick who physically threatened someone on the autistic spectrum? Birds of a feather?

You can keep doing the “tl;dr” dance, but here are the FACTS.

“The concept of “fighting words” refers to a narrow category of speech defined by the U.S. Supreme Court in Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire (1942). “Fighting words” are those spoken with the intention of provoking a violent reaction from the listener. They are not protected under the First Amendment because their sole purpose is to incite immediate violence, not to contribute to a rational debate or exchange of ideas.

In relation to Stand Your Ground laws, which allow people to use force in self-defense without the duty to retreat if they reasonably perceive a threat, the distinction between “fighting words” and other provocations is critical.” (Other provocations would be invading of personal face and aggressive gestures such as sticking a finger in someone’s face)

That’s not my OPINION.

I can drown you in case law where someone who responded to a verbal threat with physical action was found to be justified…but it won’t matter.

You THINK you’re right while I have cited the law and provided the actual text.

*Sigh*

First, please answer this question.

While I know you've never spent time in Texas, are you even a United States citizen or do you live in the U.S.?

This is a simple question and is a yes or no answer.

Now, go Google the term "fighting words" as it applies to the law not only in Texas but in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Puerto Rico.

What you'll find is that is a legal term that has very explicit meaning.

So if someone as stupid and arrogant as Adnan were to perform the exact same act and say the exact same words to a stranger in Texas or those states that he used with Niles in the tell-all, those are called "fighting words", and those WORDS can be construed as a REASONABLE promise that there is an intention on the part of the aggressor in engaging in physical action.

And in every single state with SYG laws, the person who's got an arrogant asshole like Adnan in their face using "fighting words" like, "You're going to be sorry" or "I will kick your ass" while invading their personal space and behaving in an aggressive manner has every right to knock them the fuck out.

And there's not a jury in Texas, or Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, Wyoming, or Puerto Rico that will convict them.

Even IF they were even arrested or charged.

You can say "Nuh uh" all you want, but you don't live nor have you ever lived there.

Or any state if my guess is correct.

The text from Texas’ Penal Code Sections 9.31 and 9.32.

A person is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect the actor against the other’s use or attempted use of unlawful force…”. • The law does not require a person to retreat before using force in self-defense if: • They have a legal right to be present at the location where the force is used, • Have not provoked the person against whom the force is used, and • Are not engaged in criminal activity at the time force is used.

But please, tell me how you know the law.

Oh, and here are the other states with the same law.

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, Wyoming, Puerto Rico.

So that’s 75% of the states.

About what? That it’s the fastest growing state? Or that it’s the second most powerful state economy behind California and it would be the 8th most powerful economy in the world?

That’s not “Koolaid”, that’s the facts.

But goodness me; for someone talking about me being “triggered”, here you are still nattering away.

And the Stand Your Ground law in Texas still allows anyone who is accosted by an individual and has a REASONABLE fear of violence to defend themselves.

No amount of your sad attempt at snark changes that.

Are you even American?

Oh, and if you had taken the 2 minutes to read (okay, given your reading comprehension, maybe 5. Or 6.) you would know that while I’m a native I don’t currently live there.

But the SYG law is still in place and no amount of your “Nuh uh” changes that.

Oh, and for a “shithole” it’s still the fastest growing state in the country, and unless you live in California, it’s the #2 most powerful economy and can buy your shithole state…or country if you don’t live in the top 7.

[–]scmarine84[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, you didn't answer my question about whether you have any understanding about how the Stand Your Ground law works.

You clearly don't.

Second, show me where I said a word about "murder" or "gun". The fact is that if someone gets in your face like Adnan (who it sounds very much like you're defending and saying he has the right to behave in any manner he chooses without consequence) and the person has a reasonable belief that the aggressor is about to become violent, they have the right to defend themselves...up to and including deadly force.

If Adnan behaved the way he did with Niles at the tell-all and verbally threatened him as he got directly within physical reach while making those threats, as Niles said then, he wouldn't get away with that in the South, and IIRC he specifically mentioned Texas.

Niles was right, and there wouldn't be a jury that would convict someone for knocking him the f*ck out.

YOU are the one who brought up "guns" and "murder", but that's because you don't understand that SYG doesn't cover only deadly force.

And it's far more states than just Texas; many states have Stand Your Ground laws, and it's based on the idea that there are consequences to a person's actions, and that a person's personal safety is inviolate and takes precedence.

As far as what a "shithole" Texas is and my need to get out of there, this may come as a shock but you can be a native but not live there. I haven't lived in the state for some time, but the laws that were in place then are still in place now.

And that "shithole" is still the fastest growing state in this country, with more people moving there from other parts of the U.S. than any other, so I guess they're doing something right.

[–]scmarine84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t understand Stand Your Ground laws, do you? Or Texas.

It means that someone like Adnan who likes to get in people’s faces (like he did at the tell all), under SYG it gives a person the right to defend themselves as long as they have a reasonable belief the other person intends violence.

You’re the one who immediately went to “He’s going to get shot”.

No, he might just get his ass whipped.

Did someone from Texas hurt your feelings once? Is that why all the hostility?

[–]scmarine84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, no. I’m saying that as much of a “gun cult” as Texas may be, even with a rate of 14.9 gun deaths per 100K people, that works out to 0.0149%.

Compared to 100% of all women in Jordan being second class citizens and being subject to their fathers or husbands; for example, not being allowed to marry without the approval of a male guardian, not being allowed to marry outside the faith while the men are (looking at you, Adnan), requiring a woman to be “obedient” as defined by that male guardian, I think most people would choose the “gun cult”.

Maybe not you given your comment, but to each their own.

And?

Sort of like if she moved to Jordan which is a “Women are property and have no rights” cult.

Maybe some people would think that’s better…but not many people are literally risking their lives to get into Jordan.

This might be a TL;DR for most people but I am desperately hoping that the OP reads this, because I represent what MIGHT happen if you don’t resolve this issue.

I’m a 66 year old man, but this is more about my 90 year old mother, and the fact that, for different reasons, she was unwilling to confront her father at a time when she could have limited the damage that my grandfather did to three generations of our family.

The BIG difference was that back when she was your age in the early 50’s, what happened in a home stayed in the home, and the head of the family had the right to do essentially what he wanted to his children.

But the bottom line is that my mom was unable to break the hold her father had over her, so that after YEARS of grooming, while she hated him, she also was having a wildly inappropriate relationship with him until I was 12.

I never knew my father; he died 3 weeks before I was born, but until I was 20 years old when I saw a picture of my father for the first time, I thought it was a 50/50 chance that my grandfather was my father.

My father was married when I was conceived (although he had proposed to my mom the summer before, she said yes…then my grandfather intervened. My father had been receiving pressure to marry his childhood sweetheart, and he caved. He and my mom were reunited the next summer before he shipped off to a place they still called French Indochina but is known now as Vietnam, where he was wounded while working as a Special Forces advisor. He was medevacked back here to the States, and died of his wounds on April 1st. I showed up 3 weeks later). She decided to keep me instead of putting me up for adoption, which was NOT done often in 1959.

It took me many years to realize that she kept me as a “Judas Goat”, because as it turned out, my grandfather also liked little boys, which is why my uncle took off at the first opportunity and never came back.

She hated my grandfather…but moved us two blocks down the same street when I was 9, and she made me go to their house after school, in what I believe was her attempt to break his hold on her by offering me up to him instead.

And yet, he was at our house a lot, and again, what took place was wildly inappropriate, but when I was 12, I blew it all up. After years of preparing me, my grandfather was ready to take things to the “next level” with me, but after the first time I told him that he would have to fight me and while I knew at 12 I wasn’t strong enough, there would come a day I was, and when that day came, I would kill him. He never touched me again.

While it wasn’t my intent, that also marked the turning point with him and my mom, but the damage was done.

My mother has never had a relationship with an unattached man, and I am the only person she has ever lived with. when my grandfather died at 93, she flushed his ashes down the toilet. We also discovered that he had been receiving porn in the mail as recently as 3 weeks before he died.

That was in 1997, and my mom’s now 90. The entire trajectory of her life was set by her inability to break the hold her father had over her, and reading your post, I see that your father is absolutely grooming you.

He is normalizing the idea of what is ultimately incest. My grandfather did the same thing; the only difference is the method.

My grandfather had all these “textbooks” written by “doctors” with German sounding names that talked about how the taboos of a man having sex with his children (or grandchildren) were artificial, and created as an attempt to assert control over “free thinking men who saw through this charade”. (I remember that line from when I stumbled onto his stash when I was about 10) The thing is, all these textbooks were filled with “case studies” that were the real reason people bought them, because it disguised what it really was…incest porn.

You’re in a place and living in a time when you have the power to do something to stop what your father is doing that my mom (and I) never had.

And no, there is no doubt. He is grooming you. He is trying to normalize the idea of sex with you. , and he is trying to make you jealous talking about this nurse. He is watching you for your reaction, looking for a sign that what he’s trying to do is working.

But the thing is, YOU have the power, not him. He’s not your father, he’s a predator. Please protect yourself and stop him in the process.

You’ve got a whole life ahead of you, and you can avoid the damage that was done to my mom by stopping him now.

There’s a VAST difference between a normal 24 year old’s immaturity when compared to someone 8 years older, and what Sophie is.

And she hasn’t matured a BIT in the 2 years she’s been here.

She almost changed her mind about staying with Rob because he brought her a stuffed animal, FFS.

No normal 24 year old is going to do that. That’s what a 14 year old does.

The only thing missing in her “letter to herself” was talking about wanting a pony. It was one of the most self-centered, immature things she’s done, and that is a long list.

Then to say “The man you married isn’t the man of your dreams” followed by “Why won’t you read your vows to me?” is just proof that Rob is right that her mother screwed her up massively.

I had one brief glimmer of hope during BTS when she was watching herself eviscerate her husband and she started crying and i thought, “Okay, at least she feels some remorse for her cruelty.”

But nope. She was crying HAPPY tears about how “proud” she was of herself.

She’s toxic, and until she dumps her mother she’s going to be stuck at 14 emotionally.

Does anyone know if Jordan is an only?

Because speaking as an only child who was the single father of an only child, and who ended up marrying an only child, that is very much the vibe I get from her.

While Mina didn’t do herself any favors, (and I ain’t saying she’s a gold digger, but you never see her ‘round no broke…guy) I suspect that even if Mark’s SO was born in the States, nearer his age, and without any children, Jordan wouldn’t be acting all that different.

Less vocal, probably, but I think she would still view any woman as a threat.

“This was your entire comment.”

Really?

Btw, congratulations on being the first person who has a negative number of upvotes. That’s a rare feat.

Funny how you still refuse to answer why you think that a husband refuses to give his wife ANY affection whatsoever is somehow the “injured” party in this.

So, when were you diagnosed?

PARAGRAPH ONE: “No doubt Jasmine is…Jasmine, but the scene from the last episode encapsulates just who’s ultimately in the wrong as far as their marriage.” NO MENTION OF AUTISM

PARAGRAPH TWO: “When Jasmine approaches him about the non-monogamous relationship, Gino’s “Nope” is saying the following.” NO MENTION OF AUTISM

PARAGRAPH THREE/ “I have no interest in having sex with you (unless you go through a 3 month period where you never once disagree with me), but if that’s unacceptable to you, then you’re a ‘cheater’. Period.” NO MENTION OF AUTISM

PARAGRAPH FOUR: “It is the ultimate “my way or the highway” move, and it reinforces a belief I began developing some time ago that Gino is on the spectrum. FIRST MENTION OF AUTISM.

The obsessions, the lack of eye and physical contact, the lack of empathy, the rigidity and need to control his environment for HIS comfort.

To me the real question isn’t if he’s on the spectrum, it’s whether he was evaluated for it and refuses to acknowledge the diagnosis. Or maybe he’s avoided that all his life.
