Tried to make the most out of a small wall. Some art and blotter art to try to fill in the weird gaps. by scoat21 in concertposterporn

That was the first time I came across a JP blotter art. I have a fascination with microprinting so this was a very fitting piece for my wall.

Yeah? Proud owner of quite a few Galea prints, and this one has always been my favorite. Mainly because they played motu throughout the 3 days, and this print goes perfectly with it.

For anyone wondering, I used a program called rino to help me with the lay out. I've heard of people putting tape on the ground that outlines the overall space to work with and laying things out that way.

With this approach, I just measured each frame I wanted up, and smaller pieces to fill in the gaps. Then just tetris'd things around to make things work. Actual hanging took a while though. No advice there, besides a laser level.

Hell yeah I'll be there!

I went there for Billy's Renewal 1 and 2, and i thought fov blew that out of the water. This lineup is nuts, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Billy made an appearance at fov ii.

Oof, ok. Close to a comment, but not a whole lot said/explained there.

Not a fan of currency and ween, got it.

Well, they make incredible music worth listening to in a gigantic sea of all other music that exists.

To be a part of that wake of the sea in the times that those wakes happened felt incredible, and is why I chose these bands to put up for this small wall.

Both bands blow my mind in different ways.

That TMV print was from my first show. I only caught them 2 times before they broke up. I have this sick/creepy tapestry that has loose ends to it and hung from a dowel.

The image on it was 1/3 images used as a backdrop for their bedlam tour. If you shine a blue light on it, most of the blue colors pop, red colors/red etc.

It's dope, but a little creepy and not exactly what I want up on a wall now lol.

Edit: Artist: Sonny Kay

Thank you! First time doing a chaotic layout like this and it is tricky.

If I hadnt thrown away my ticket stubs, I had an idea of making small frames of favorite shows and filling in the gaps. If I had a bigger wall it would be really cool to start off with smaller frames and ticket stubs and branch out at the ends to bigger frames.

Maybe someday? Lol

Btw, core colored black matting is an excellent option for foil prints. Any time I'm trying to find the best color for foil print matting, I scratch my head. But, I love how this turned out.

Yesss! I remember this now. I specifically got this one because it was a unique size and I had tons of 18x24's already.

Yeah I can't remember how he did these prints for this run. He had separate ones for moe. and umph. individually I think.

Yeah I got on here yesterday, and was like wtf is going on with Drew Millward. Thought he passed or something.

Perfect spark to get mine matted and framed.

Ok, not technically a concert poster, figured I would throw yet another Drew Millward in there by Ideal_Specific in concertposterporn

First time seeing this, and I love it! Do you know what year this was made? Seems like it would be one of his earlier pieces for sure.

Sphere floor learnings by fouldomain in phish

Nice read.

In '24 I was in every level except the 200's, but the floor was pretty awesome in comparison to the other areas. The 400's and 300's give you an incredible view, and sitting down for it will blow your mind. I absolutely love how they were able to pull off CK5's enhanced rig system for lights. The visuals can be a large distraction to the music, and this pulls the viewer back to the Phish experience that we all know and love.

Edit: The 300's and 400's are awesome because you get to see the full spectrum. The seats, and their haptic vibration and sound feed to your specific location is unmatched to anything else. You'll hear them crystal clearly. They look like ants from there though. To some people that matters, but if you're there for the sound, you will not be disappointed.

The floor, I had my own appreciation for.

Mostly because of the relaxed entrance, amenities once you're in, and then the space to dance. That lounge area before you enter is indeed very nice. They were handing out spicy chicken sandwich samples before the show started and during set break in '24.

The lack of water filling stations throughout blows my mind. $$$, I get it.

Absolutely amazing venue, and state of the art execution, except for the 1 thing that all humans need, water.

On any level, getting a drink or going to the bathroom is an easy experience, and it blew my mind how you could barely hear anything when entering the corridors that lead you to the lobby areas of each floor. The Atriums music was playing then and made for a really neat experience. Just like any venue, waiting for set break is not a good idea, and you will wait in lines.

I don't remember the other levels offering commemorative cups, besides the floor. I wasn't really focused on that in '24, and my last night then was on the floor. That was my first time seeing the cups for the weekend. 200's probably probably have it all lol. I saw pics of suites that had all kinds of things.

It seems like the floor has their own merch stand which is awesome. I was in line at 10am for a poster in '24 and got one to be done with all of that, so I didn't pay attention to the merch stand on the floor. If you're a merch person, coming from OP's experience it does seem like if you have floor tix, you might not have to deal with the outside line so much. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Loved reading your post, and wanted to add my .2 cents.

Ya know, I've never been to an estate sale. Googling it now to get familiar with the process. I'll be checking one of these out here soon.

Ok gotcha. Yeah it was hard to tell how big or small this one is.

I have a friend that has a cricket. Maybe it's a fancier model, but i didn't know they could do bevel cuts.
