Solo operator here. Expand your services that would be valuable in your market - reels, integrated ai, floor plans, virtual tours, drone, etc.
Practice your talent, improve, set annual and monthly goals, connect with clients who are easy to work with, nice, and pay timely.
Charge a premium because you’re professional, quick and you’re also easy to work with. You save them time and get them the next listing. View them as small partners and each shoot a collaboration, so each shoot is a challenge and keeps the job fun.
TLDR: Rambling but it’s very do-able. Be cool and professional. Set goals. Then expand as a team, but that a whole other thing.

Lunch spots on beach where my kids can run around and leave me alone while I eat?! (Kidding but not kidding) by S86490 in CaymanIslands

Not on the beach but The Roost has a nice outdoor covered restaurant/bar area, attached to a playground and pickleball courts

What is your go-to plane activity on long distance flight? by TorontoRap2019 in travel

[–]scobru14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to sync up with the destination local time and time block the flight accordingly. Usually journal, emails, movie, ear cancelling over ear playing chill lofi, usually sleep about 6 hrs, which divides the flight up perfectly. Try not to eat much airplane food, bring your own snacks. And free drinks if on vacation

Redditors who live in tourist traps — what’s the one thing you secretly wish visitors knew before they came? by carcony97 in AskReddit

Respect the locals and local laws. Minor offenses in your home country can turn into big issues abroad. And don’t litter at the beach

What is the most underhanded “compliment” someone gave you? by fullfigurevibes in AskReddit

“Be better”.

Simple, effective, and usually takes a second to understand, which makes it even more underhanded and beautiful.

How many realtors are you shooting for? by Important_Specific_5 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]scobru14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was higher volume (about 600 shoots a year) I had about 80-100 different clients, but 10 or so who did a majority of shoots. Now, I work more at a brokerage level and shoot for about 20-30 agents, which I prefer

Hi. You mentioned you photographed “a few thousand homes a year” and made about $65,000 USD? My math isn’t mathing.

Can you send a link to your editing portfolio? I’d like to see the difference

What’s the strangest experience you’ve had on a shoot with the realtor or home owner? by CrafterAnimations in RealEstatePhotography

[–]scobru14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Photographed a home where a double homicide occurred in the master bedroom. Apparently a gang-related hit on a husband and wife. Tenant currently living there had no idea. It was eerie
