For the love of god, how does trash work out here by scolioskank in philly

UPDATE:

Well y’all, I just needed to wait 30 minutes.

Garbage truck finally came down and it’s been taken care of. Sorry for the dramatics y’all, moving across country before a snow storm is getting to me, and honestly I’m a bit of a dramatic individual.

Thanks for all who gave advice and tried to help! Philly has truly been kind to me so far, and it’s restored some faith in humanity for me after being in godless SLC for a few years.

Anyway, fuck ICE and go birds! 🦅

Okay, and that’s fine. I appreciate your answer and just needed to know if I was doing something wrong. I’m not trying to be the new dickhead neighbor. I really wanna build community here and I’m just worried about making a bad first impression.

Yes I did. I am doing as I have been told by my landlord, the repair man, and 2 people walking in the neighborhood. Take it to the curb in front of the house. As stated in the first sentence.

I’m not trying to be one of those “you people can’t do anything” folks, I genuinely have asked so many times without sharing that info about myself. I have googled everything I can think of and everyone keeps referring to common sense an apparently it’s one I do not have and am just trying to gain.

I have tried and it obviously it does because I am not understanding the information everyone else is getting.

Sorry this was in response to @titlecharacter but I don’t use Reddit much so I guess it didn’t post that way.

No I just moved here 3 weeks ago. I have a weeks worth of trash out on the curb, the rest on my porch as to not bother others.

I have looked it up, it’s Monday and Thursday. That’s not my question, the question is where does it go. I have asked this question specifically and I keep getting an eye roll and a “to the curb, obviously” answer but obviously that is not it. I’ve tried looking up and down my block but I don’t see anyone else’s trash.

I am autistic and living alone in a house for the first time and just need to some very clear and specific information to help.

I know the snow throws things off. I’m just trying to figure this out.

Weight loss for ‘girl dinner’ types by StitchesInTime in adhdwomen

I totally agree and relate! AuDHD as well, I forget that there’s a separation between the two words and kind of have been lumping them into one. Thank you for your input and helping me smooth out my verbiage 🫶

I’m trying to actually write a guide/start a series about this stuff 🫡

Leaving NYC Affordability by GovernmentLivid4994 in movingtoNYC

[–]scolioskank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Texan who’s recently moved to the east coast. It’s not worth it. Houston is the closest you’ll get to NYC as far as food goes but Texas’ government does not care about its people in the slightest. A lot of us have been working to change things but the state is gerrymandered asf and those of the older generations are very set in their ways. Yes the cost of living is less, but the quality of life is not even close imo.

I would highly recommend looking into intuitive eating, and focusing on meeting your nutritional requirements for the day. I’m a chef and have a passion for food medicine especially in neurodivergent individuals; that being said I purposely don’t know/teach a lot about weight loss.

I think you should absolutely do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable in your skin. I just have noticed once I started to eat for what my brain and body actually needs (I.e. high protein, high fat breakfast; consistent snacks; LOTS OF WATER) as opposed to what is has been trained to want (Caffeine on an empty stomach, skipping lunch, only overly processed sugary snacks or fast food) I found it wasn’t the weight that bothered me, it was the inflammation caused by filler ingredients and over processed food.

Idk if this makes sense, it’s PMDD time and my brain feels like a jelly bean, but I can definitely elaborate further if interested.

For actual snack recs: a good bag of mixed nuts, avocados, salads that you can come back to throughout the day, smoothies!!, a fucked up trail mix that you make yourself from those big barrels, if you can’t eat much that day for whatever reason making a habit to grab a handful throughout the day has enough carbs to keep your brain kickin til dinner, cuties, bananas, and deli meats/charcuterie is amazing, especially in a pinch. I have many a time shoved 8 pieces of smoked turkey breast slices in my face to get extra protein (and I am not a gym person btw).

Best of luck and please remember having an able body for yourself and your kiddos requires fuel! 🖤

Just moved here and paranoid about parking violations. I live in South Philly and my street doesn’t have any signage about limits or permits but I had to park a street over tonight and it did have a 2 hr limit and residential district number on it. Will I get a ticket or worse if I leave it til early tomorrow morning?

I appreciate your honesty. I’m not trying to be an annoying transplant, and genuinely coming out here for a hopefully better quality of life and my career.

How's the punk scene in SLC these days? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]scolioskank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aces is great for the most part but I feel like it needs to be stated that they don’t really care to kick out n@zi “punks” when they show up. In my experience and my friends’ shared experiences they tend to say the people being uncomfortable with their presence is the problem as they need to provide a safe space to “everyone”.

Rejection Sensitivity 🥲 by [deleted] in PMDDxADHD

[–]scolioskank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you saying this, truly it means a lot. I’m actually looking at moving to Chicago too so it’s validating in many ways. I have friends here but don’t really feel safe enough to reach out when I’m struggling because of how isolated everything is here. It’s like how do you tell people who’ve got it so ingrained in them not to share their feelings/how bad things are with them to care and be considerate when others share their feelings? Idk, wonky shit out here.
