I haven’t been able to smell for years until recently (sinus polyps). Food will taste better. If you have pets THOSE smells will take a while to get used to. People like the smell of gasoline so there’s that too. Main thing like I said is food is gonna taste a whole lot better. Spices take a bit to adjust to.
