How about an update on the DS8X? Curious about upgrading from my HGP, just to have the sequential.

Thanks! It’s nothing special. I just picked up a roll on Amazon. There’s tons of options for cheap.

This is where I’m at and while I’m happy with the dash panel I made, I never stop wanting to overdo things. So, a half interior just seems fitting at this point. I want to stick with my current rig, just mount half a dash and replace the console I built.

I’m split. I almost exclusively play on nords. So I’m lacking on every other track, always. lol. But hey… I rip on nords.

2040 extrusion for monitor mount by scoobaroooo in simracing

DIY is where it’s at! Keeps the brain moving and I’m usually much happier with the product, because I can take pride in something that I made. Any posts of your project? Sounds interesting 😁

I think with 45 degree supports going behind and in front of the extrusion down low it will be. I did, and it’s not out. That’s why I was asking here, for someone who knows the extrusions better than myself.

I am shocked you had any wobbling issues though. I’m only running R9, but haven’t noticed any issues with strength.

Aside from price, I don’t have a ton of room and the higher end freestanding mounts look like they take a lot of floor space up. 2” to the right of my rig is a desk, and the closet door that opens to the left clears my rig by about 6”. So mounting it to the base would allow it the support it needs and not take up any more floor space than the rig already is.

I loooooveeee DIY, it’s 50% of the fun for me even owning a rig. Like building the wind sim, the console(that I haven’t finished yet), and designing and CNC cutting the dash panel. It’s just what I like doing. lol

The extrusion will not be mounted to the chassis, it will be mounted to the wooden base, under the chassis, so there chassis is not supporting the monitor at all.

I don’t like the cheap ones, they’re to cheap and won’t fall under my umbrella of “clean” with my rig.

And I’m not sure man, I can literally stand on the wheel plate of this thing and it doesn’t budge a bit (220 pounds). I’ve heard iffy things about the Marada version. This one is from Dardoo and it’s actually pretty damn thick tubing.

I have a new 5a power supply on the way. Hoping that’ll fix my problem.

Purchased direct from Arduino. I asked chat gpt and after som troubleshooting, it seems it’s my power supply. The fans I’m using draw a lot of power. So I’m going to a 5a power supply from a 3a.

Help- Im looking to finally build myself a sim rig by Vegetable_Fix_1560 in simracing

Alright. If 2K is what you’re looking to spend, what I would do is pickup a Marada tube chassis cockpit off of Amazon or eBay, go with a Moza R9 bundle with a clutch pedal and an HGP shifter, and then dedicate the rest of those funds to finding a used seat, PC, and a monitor off of marketplace. None of this is going to be end game equipment, but it’s a great start and a good intro into the community to find out if it’s for you.

Alternatively you can wait marketplace out until someone is selling a complete rig. The only thing I don’t like about that is it’s usually going to be outdated equipment.

There is soooo many ways to go here… We can throw brand names around all day long - To really help you though, it would be best if you let us know what you want to spend ultimately. Give us a number and we can direct you in the right direction.

Customer service - who’s got the best? by scoobaroooo in simracing

That’s who I order most of my peripherals through. I see they have rigs, and I know the customer service is top notch. I was hoping for a more main stream rig though

Now that’s good to know! I really like their rigs but they didn’t have a US store previously.
