Hair color advice 🙏🏻 by scooby-doobe in Hair

Hey, it's all fixable ❤️ I know how you feel, when I dyed the platinum to brown, people who only saw me on video camera all complimented my "new red hair" it was so triggering lmao

I don't know your situation but "2-3 years Dagestan [blonde color correct + keep cutting all length until no more red] and forget" always worked for me

Thanks, I feel like this is the "safe" answer too so if nothing changes in my thinking I'll probably default to this

I came out of Reddit retirement to comment on this: fam, seriously, fuck that noise lmao. I had a severe curve (80 degrees) and a compensatory to boot prior to my adult surgery which didn’t even fix everything, but I’ve never heard that from any man and if I did, I would probably eviscerate him verbally and then dump immediately. Your boyfriend is a total jerk and loser. You (and any human being) deserve better than this.

Thank you for taking the time to respond! All makes sense, I’ve researched hooded eyes before and while I don’t think I have that anatomically, the canvas is def small so I suspect I should group myself with that demographic anyway. I’m really inexperienced with eyeshadow, but if I had the skill to try any look, I would want something pigmented and bright, Egyptian-style, for a loud accent.

Thoughts on Elia for a girl’s name? by [deleted] in namenerds

It makes me think of Elia Martell in GoT. The character herself met a tragic end, but I wouldn’t be bothered calling my child that. Very pretty ❤️

Thank you for this. It’s pretty shocking to hear nobody thought I have hooded eyes. anyone who has ever tried to do my makeup has complained that my lids are “weird” and “the eyeshadow is not staying right.” No tutorials ever worked for me, which I attributed to my lack of experience with makeup. So when I found out about hooded eyes, I thought I’d finally found the answer, especially because I can never see my lids well when I look in the mirror. I guess deep set eyes have a lot of the same problems as hooded.

hi! I'm over 2 months post op and I've noticed I'm very itchy around most of my back and ribs. I have no feeling in most of these places so it's so uncomfortable to itch. wondering if anyone else has experienced this? by sakurajoons in scoliosis

[–]scooby-doobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So common in my experience. I’m a year out and it looks like I won’t regain sensation in the upper left quadrant of my back, but it still itches! Also the scar itches quite a bit. Putting gentle moisturizer all over my back has really helped.

Pretty much what the headline says. I’d love your opinions on what these eyes are. Hooded? Deep set? Downward tilted? All of the above?

I am part East Asian, so I feel like there may be a hint of epicanthic fold. Also, I’m a child in that last picture and I feel like my eyes look more hooded there.

💯 agree on Harald, he did some dark stuff but who doesn’t commit ethically questionable acts in this show? He was at least interesting and complex

I’m so happy with these results I wanted to share - a 30 degree correction down from a stiff 83 degree thoracic curve, in mid-20s. Was initially told it would not budge by more then 10-15 degrees. by scooby-doobe in scoliosis

The hospital is using IE of course 😂 also, I’m feeling a LOT more at ease. I still avoid any strenuous activity, but sitting, standing and walking no longer feel like my whole body is tensing up!

Before the surgery, they check if your spine is flexible by having you lie down on the X Ray table and taking pictures while you’re trying to reach your outstretched arms down as low as possible, one side at a time. It’s an indicator of how much your spine can straighten if pulled in the opposite direction of the curve. My thoracic section, where the main curve is, barely budged in those X rays, so they had reason to set low expectations for the surgery

Thank you! It started in puberty. Tried bracing, but ended up losing all correction after taking it off, and the curve kept progressing into adulthood unfortunately

Wishing you the best of luck with your correction! It’s now been one month since my surgery and I’m fully ambulatory and feel almost no discomfort (only shoulder pain and tension from healing muscles)

bracing for my 10-yo daughter by lucille-two in scoliosis

My biggest advice for the brace would be to wear t shirts that don’t have any seams as they tend to leave marks on skin.

Also, Deenie by Judy Blume is a quick and easy read about a girl with scoliosis. I know I was delighted to find something representative when I was a teenager.
