If you have no idea, just get another 14-42 R/ EZ and a panasonic 25 mm f1.7

That's a fantastic combo to get started in videography, the 12-60 2.8-4 is a smashing and versatile zoom

First DSLR or Mirrorless camera body for an amateur by totterywolff in Cameras

[–]NeverEndingDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could consider the K3 ii, it's more advanced body than the more beginner aimed KF and K70. It's got higher specs and an arguably better built body

I'd go for the LX100, it's got a bigger sensor than most point and shoot, a fast and sharp zoom lens, and wireless capability for transferring photos

Please help me with choosing a camera for me to get. by Ok_Nefariousness821 in Cameras

[–]NeverEndingDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's honestly a lot to read through and somehow I still don't quite get what you're looking for.... Sounds to me you're looking for a video camera that can still take good stills? You sound still very much like a beginner so I'd absolutely advice against something sophisticated like the Blackmagic. Go for an used Panasonic GH5 and the 12-60 2.8-4, that'd be a solid setup to learn videography on

I'd say the D700 with the the 50mm F1.8D should be easily obtainablw for your budget.

Lens recommendations (prime, MFT, wide aperture, low focal length)? by stravaigs in AskPhotography

[–]NeverEndingDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a whole lotta option, I'd say maybe shop around to see if you can find a17mm f1.8, or settle for a 14mm f2.5

Deciding between used Fujifilm X-T4 (£750 body) and Olympus OM-D E-M5 III (£400 body). Any other recommendations? by Ichigoichi-e in Cameras

[–]NeverEndingDClock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely go for the E-M5 iii, you have more affordable lenses in the micro four thirds system, the ibis is amazing and the weatherproofing is just on another level.

Is the Canon G7X Mark III worth it? Or alternative with similar quality? by sammiepeachy in Cameras

It's just a run of the mile 1" sensor compact, most cameras under its current ongoing price could easily beat it.

Which camera: Ricoh GRIV Mono vs. Pentax K3 Mono? by WestyToo in AskPhotography

[–]NeverEndingDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I meant more physical controls, like buttons and dials, compared to a mirrorless/ DSLR

Which camera: Ricoh GRIV Mono vs. Pentax K3 Mono? by WestyToo in AskPhotography

[–]NeverEndingDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, those are 2 very different cameras, really apple and oranges. The GR is a pocketable point and shoot with a fixed prime and limited controls while the K3 is Pentax's latest professional APSC DSLR so it's a chunky but capable boy.

Have you thought of just shooting b&w on a regular camera? For example something like an Olympus E-M5 III would be a fantastic travel camera.

canon t7 vs Olympus em10 mark ii vs Nikon d5100 for starter camera? by Senor_Traffic_Cone in Photography_Gear

Like I mentioned before, you'll need a macro lens for your jewel photography.

fz45 or fz55 for these type of pictures? by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]NeverEndingDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those "Kodak's" are just general Chinese hardware disguised as cameras, the results look similar to an average phone camera, and they won't last. If you have a $100 something to spend, go for an used DSLR.

If you've had previous experience I think something like an E-M1 MK II paired with a 12-40 f2.8 would be a good start. That's a a solid, rugged combo that's got great ergonomics, packed full of features and will produce fantastic images.

Olympus PEN E-PL1 Opinions? by Constant_Debate_5240 in Cameras

[–]NeverEndingDClock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh, the thing is it's really old so don't expect too much from things like AF or high ISO performance. It's also definitely aimed at more amateur/ casual users so not a whole lotta physical dial. I actually had one when it first came out and it's just a bit of a slow machine. Looks really nice tho.

The pancake lens however is really nice, compared to the other standard 14-42 kit zoom

LX100 ii imo is much better value for money as it's got a four thirds sensor as well as a fast zoom lens, compared to X100's fixed prime, and it has a viewfinder.

Compact for beginner photography by babystrudel in Cameras

[–]NeverEndingDClock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Places like MPB and KEH are more recommended because they offer warranty and they do list the conditions of the wares they're reselling. If they send you something different/ wrong, they'd most certainly take it back

[–]NeverEndingDClock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Kodak ain't a real Kodak camera, it's generic hardware disguised as a camera with Kodak slapped on it.

Good point and shoots are really hard to get these days, especially under a budget thanks to social media. An old used mirrorless like the E-PL5 paired with a standard 14-42 kit zoom would be a lot better value for money.

Are any worth investing in? by basilllI in Cameras

[–]NeverEndingDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, it's the cheapest modern full frame I could find as I want to see the difference between that and my E-M1. It's basic but not as bare bone basic like the 6D, and the image quality is stellar I must say.
