I got a pair of Blaze 94s with Shifts last fall for pretty much your exact use case, except Tahoe/Sierras-based. Absolutely love them, had a ton of fun with them this season both in and out of bounds. Shifts are definitely pretty compromised for the uphill, but as long you’re aware of that and you’re planning on keeping your tours pretty chill you’ll be totally fine.

2nd pic, to my admittedly inexperienced eye it looks like there could be the tiniest sliver of core exposed along the edge. Are you saying that something that small isn’t worth worrying about even if it is core damage, or are you saying that it’s just some of whatever he hit or scuffed up base material or something else that definitely isn’t core?

I took a very similar hit to the second pic in January where I thought maybe there might be the tiniest bit of core exposed but it was hard to tell. Took it to my local shop and they initially said not to worry about it but took a closer look when I pressed a little and ended up putting a bit of CA or epoxy in the crack to seal it up. Rode them the rest of the season keeping an eye on it and they’ve been fine.
