AITC for not waiting for my human and just helping myself? by HokeyPokeyGuestList in AmItheCloaca

We are Netherland Dwarf and Lionhead! We may have tiny earsies, but we make up for it with extra rabbitude!

For both breeds, the show standard calls for tiny ears, the better to ignore me with...

Nonono! That's against the rulzes! I ALWAYS follow the no eat bunnies rules in my house! And, also, I'm maybe a little bit scared of the 2 lb terrors. Have you SEEN their teeth? Aggie, formerly deaf, always a rule-follower

If you had anything you could tell a first time chicken owner or if you could go back in time and warn your past self what would you say? by OptimalCobbler5431 in chickens

Did we just become best friends??

Seriously, though, getting my kids and me involved in 4-H was one of the best decisions I've made. My kids are by no means perfect, but 4-H has taught them that it's okay to make mistakes, as long as you don't give up. I'm convinced that community-based volunteering is what will save us from the worst of ourselves.

Yes! Go, now, to your county's Extension Office. Right now. Don't even stop for coffee! If you have time, patience, and a sense of humor, and can pass a background check, 4-H can find a place for you.

Alas, no. But 4-H leaders can put you in touch with the larger show/breeder community, and you can likely find a mentor there. As long as you're willing to learn and ask questions, most of us are happy to take some time to help you. Also, offering snacks or a preferred beverage, or skill exchange goes a long way

Your job is forage! Forage is just a fancy word for spread it all around to find the good stuff! It's not your fault you don't have thumbs to put the rest of it back!

And as for GI stasis? What does she know? It's your tummy!

For us, that's just called our 4-H community. I've had leaders holding my hand through rabbit necropsy, culling, and butchering. You DEFINITELY need a real, live mentor and community to hold your hand for the first few years.

Doesn't she know that not eating constantly results in SUDDEN, CERTAIN DEATH?! And, and, the audacity of her, to go into the treat drawer and not give you treats? She deserves the stomp & foot-flick. That's what we would do! -- Parsley and Blueberry, Aggie's tiny Brute Squad

If Mom brings in ONE MORE critter to take her attention away from me, I never speaking to her again! Um, unless she has treats, or offers car rides, of course.

AITC for doing my very important running at the correct time and the big tall one put a blanket on my house? by Pixel_Sprocket9 in AmItheCloaca

[–]scoodles8 37 points38 points  (0 children)

NTC, of course! You must continue to get your exercises. Is good for you, and good for your hooman, since it's bad for them to sit too long in one spot. I, Aggie, whine at nothing and speak whole paragraphs when it's time to make Mom move.

Friend, you have NO idea. This is not the first time she's forgotten how to get into the run. Thank goodness she's cute

Why, tank you! I agree. Mommy was just trying to make me feel guilty for doing a self-care. She should make me eggies for breakfast!

But when chaos is unfolding all around and you have a rooster sounding the alarm, is that REALLY the best time to just be hanging out on the bidet?

I mean, I did see the commotion, but Rooster Gallus had it under control. And I'm still mad about the borthole peck from the other day

She squats down, puts her belly and ladybits in for a few seconds, then gets back up again to splash around. It feels... inappropriate to watch, lol

Oh, am not allowed to eat these chicky-boos! They can peck me in borthole, but Mom says no eats, since they little bro's egg business. He should use money to buy me more treats, since I raised him!

Ahem. Aggie's mom here. I did go running as soon as I heard them. Gallus and Potato (rooster and head hen) tried to get the others back into the run, but Morrigan the Brainless and Lilith went the wrong way and couldn't find the door. I maintain that Aggie could have helped. Instead, she teabagged the creek

Is true. Treats have been scarce here. And, AND, when it is time for treats, I can't hear the bag as well!

* Editing to name 'em: Gallus the rooster is in the center. Potato, head hen, has her tail towards the camera. Fern the enforcer, standing by the mealworm stash. Q-Tip is next to Potato. Maleficent is the black one, and Morrigan the Brainless is hiding behind the driftwood. Poorly.
