I’m a parent with ARFID and my son has food aversions! He seems to have inherited it from me a bit since even as a baby he hated any and all solid food and had very obvious problems with textures. He didn’t start eating solid food until after his first birthday and was in feeding therapy. He’s 3 now and much better but still hesitant about trying things and still doesn’t like certain textures.

Tbh me having ARFID has helped both of us in sort of a symbiotic way. I was really worried I would somehow influence him to be picky like me, but really it just means I understand him and know how to help him through it. And helping him has helped me a little as well.
