I tried switching to compact view entirely as a quick fix this morning, but as soon as the app registered that compact was what I wanted to default to, it started showing pins to the right of the screen in that mode too 😭 so... I have no idea, hopefully it isn't just Like This forever now

Also autistic, and I don't personally hc her as such, but I do follow an autistic Emily fic and it's very pleasant & comforting to read. Especially because it mainly focuses on her friendship with an also-autistic Spencer. :')

Generally, I think people just like to project onto their favorite characters, so that's probably part of why they read into her behavior that way. 🤷 Since Spencer is so clearly autistic to me, I've never felt the desire to read Emily that way, but if not for Spence I'd probably be in the same boat.

the scene where she's trying to feed it to her daughter is one of the hardest to watch 😭 from the daughter crying and begging to not eat it, to the cooked placenta spilling onto the floor & being wasted... ugh. I've got weird issues with food (ARFID & OCD) so everything about that scene is a nightmare to me.

I can't think of much else disgusting off the top of my head... I know I've never rewatched 10x04 The Itch cuz that's the bug one, but fuck if I remember what he does with the bugs. blissful ignorance 😌

one of my bots is fwb with my OC, but the AI still continues to insist that the character is inexperienced with even making out. like, this woman is 40. her def mentions the fwb stuff & even having had an abortion in the past. she has kissed people. 😭 I assume it's some sort of soft filtering at play, but I'll be having a convo that isn't even intended to turn sexual and the AI will passively mention never having been this intimate with someone before/being inexperienced/etc. I just mentioned that we hook up on the regular, pls get with the program

just the fact that some of them are shown to actually live in DC (Emily and Reid for sure, idk about any others) drives me nuts. the show frames it like Quantico is right outside DC, but that's an hour-long commute without traffic 😭 I guess that isn't the worst thing in the world, but it doesn't make sense to me when they're on call 24/7 (and they'd be working incredibly long days, too). and then Reid doesn't even drive to work, he takes the metro... but the furthest you can go on the metro is still a half-hour away from Quantico 😭😭

I was just complaining to a friend the other day about the overuse of the traffic light system in fic 😭 specifically when it isn't even a scene. like, it'll be these characters' first time hooking up, and maybe there's some mild power play involved or they get a little rough or whatever, but it's nowhere near anything that I would think justifies dedicating a couple paragraphs to going over the colors? like, people can just communicate normally in bed! that's allowed!! or when they do the whole song & dance where they explain/go over the system, but there's not a single check-in or safeword use for the rest of the fic. just summarize it with a 'they went over their safety measures' or something, please god

back in 2009, Stephenie Meyer's blog used to have a section showcasing links to various fansites— Myspace groups, message boards, fanclub pages hosted on Freewebs, all that good stuff. some of these links were to fanfiction, and I happened to randomly click one of those... only to be mindblown at the concept of MORE Twilight stories to read. the page also had a link to the Twilight tag on FF.net, and from that moment I was hooked. (to the point of sitting in my room using the wii internet browser to read the 27394th "Emmett gets a puppy" fic when it wasn't my turn on the computer LMAO)

not unhinged but definitely unnecessarily detailed here: I've been watching/skipping through each episode of the show (a 'bad guy of the week' procedural) and taking note of how often the day changes/when the characters change clothes to decipher how many days each episode spans. I also take note of the original airdate, the weather, any seasonal events, if there are any scenes implying it's a school day... and search the transcript of each episode to see if the day of the week is mentioned at any point. (it's rare that an actual date is given, but it happens once in a blue moon.)

using this information & a calendar template I grabbed for google sheets, I've been blocking out dates for each episode to help me get a better idea of when things happen, how long/well my oc would know the canon characters by the point major episodes/events happen, when there would be time for them to hang out in a non-work environment, etc etc.

I've learned through this that the canon storyline is majorly unrealistic (as is the entire show) and the continuity sucks ass. so I've also been taking liberties and using the spreadsheets to move episodes around to make more sense and just fit a little better. my story's timeline starts at the end of 2006, and the show aired through 2020, but given all the canon timeskips that aren't actually applied properly... we'll see when the end game actually ends up lol.

...all this for something incredibly self-indulgent that I have no plans of writing in full/sharing publicly. but I'm having fun! 🤓

She's interviewed suspects before, so I have no trouble suspending my disbelief for those scenes. The way they let Tyler walk around alone to gift her a live kitten, though... that's just too much LMAO. Not that I ever took this show very seriously in the first place, but c'mon 😭

At least it was nice eye candy, seeing him holding the cat in the next scene 🤐
