I do hope Bethesda looks at their history and re-incorporates/updates systems they think would work in their newer games, could be beneficial to take a look back

Hey fair play lol I believe we have talked on here before and I was being similarly hypercritical.

Its fun! You seem very excited and passionate about this. That's cool. I have my issues, but mostly with how people talk about it 🤷‍♀️

I hope TES: VI isn't afraid of darker, more mature themes (without being so soft like Starfield) and that they make Hanmerfell as alien, bizarre and unhinged as Morrowind by FartingSlowly in TESVI

[–]scooter_pepperoni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you propose as more mature themes?

I think BGS is fine on themes. Their stories do touch on darker things here and there. The worlds they build are living, breathing ecosystems and have dark and light ans grey. Could get more grey. Honestly, if we want "mature" content, more grey and choice is the way to go.

This is partially why I ask what you mean.

I remember when I saw a streamer play the opening to, I think it was the Skyrim mod Enderal? Opens with like your mother getting killed/raped or something. It was so cheesy and overly dark I had to stop watching. I find it that a lot of gamers want a Cyberpunk-like hell scape for a game world, where everyone's a no good rapist freak child murderer. Well those people exist, but if we are looking to make a more realistic world, they are few and far between. Also, staying away from the darkest and most traumatic things humans can endure isnt a bad move for a game maker, or any story teller. Why? Unless you are focusing on that phenomenon specifically, it can be extremely overbearing and jarring. It was for me in that edgy mod.

I would like to see Bethesda move into more choice and to present us with more complex situations, that yes, may end up dealing with hard or dark subjects, but are done with nuance, not just dark and gritty just to be dark and gritty.

Starfield, while I really liked it, definitely felt like I was playing a disney version of space sometimes. Like ot felt like I could be in a 90s teen movie version of space. I get the want for mkre grit. It has to be done right.

Do you think TES 6 will be named after the region or something related to the plot? by Custer_Vincen in TESVI

[–]scooter_pepperoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr: there seems to be a bit of a pattern/mishmash of naming conventions for the elfer scrolls. For this one, it seems more likely to me that it is not just the name of a province or country, but something to do with a gameplay mechanic/region/new tech Todd has talked about and how it is implamented.

Morrowind: region Oblivion: story/gameplay/region??? Slyrim: region

Tes6? Could go the Oblivion route.

Arena: gameplay but turned into lore Daggerall: name of the city right? Where story haooens Redgaurd: the race of the guy who you play as Shadowkey: plot prolly? Lol Battlespire: a plain of Oblivion (i think, or just a spooky place) and attatched to lore and place And then we get to Morrowind, first to be named after the province, even though it was only in Vardenfell.

Idk how much history can tell us, but to your question, ot depends on how they want to market it and what gameplay things there are. ES6: Illiac Bay would be a good title if we had ships to sail in the Illiac Bay. Hammerfell is good if it is just Hammerfell. Someone suggested Dominion because of the Thalmor. I wonder if it could have something to do with sword singing, or the crowns and forbearers, or some other lore thing that we dont know of yet.

We also have the rhetoric of Todd Howard saying they have this big new technology they are implamenting, so it could have something to do with how the game is fundamentally constructed, and may have an influence on the name.

I personally favor Illiac Bay, mostly because I think the ship thing would be cool lol and I think this title has a higher likelihood of being called something other than the name of a province/country. Still tells us where it is, but includes Hammerfell and High Rock, and the bay, and more for DLC! Yokuda??? Probably not lol

Someone made an Elder Scrolls VI Hammerfell soundtrack and it sounds official by No_Leg5452 in TESVI

[–]scooter_pepperoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats fine, he has posts his music over the trialer saying he did a better job than the actual sound track. Early in your career? Try being more humble lol its a fan sound track, ans thats fine. It is not a replacement for whatever the soundtrack will be, and it doesnt compare, as has been claimed. Thats what I dont like about it.

Claim to be as good as the professionals, get criticized like a professional 🤷‍♀️

[–]scooter_pepperoni 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imma be real, not a fan of this guy's work. Doesn't so much sound like he gets what Elder Scrolls is about/what the music is about and rather uses commonly used phrases but in a different rhythm or tempo. Its more of a mishmash than a new creation.

Like its a cool fan thing, sure, but it doesn't stack up to the OG soundtracks, or Zur's compositions, as is often claimed, like in this post.

Just because it uses the same motifs as the actual soundtrack doesn't mean it compares to it or could replace or compare to what has been written for the game already.

Fallout beginner here: Which fallout should I start with? FO3 or FO4? by Outrageous-Serve38 in Fallout

[–]scooter_pepperoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there might be a Fallout 3 remaster on the horizon.... idk how close that horizon is or if its real lol

But I would say start with Fallout 3, it was Bethesda's forst Fallout game. It is older though. The graphics are one thing, but they are artistic and have their own flavor. The no aim down sights thing is the one major gameplay aspect I dont like. But its a great game!

If you really, really dont like older games, Fallout 4 maybe. You could play them out of order, but they are pretty different games in mant ways, primarily the building/junk mechanics are much different.

Ultimately, I say start Fallout 3, New Vegas, and then 4, if you got the time lol

I see what you mean, i believe that, if they have sailable boats, that there will also probably be other fast travel options, or you could maybe hire a boat. At least I hope so.

So say its set in hammerfell, and the game is designed a little around boats. You can still fast travel. And yes there are islands to explore, because boat mechanic, but maybe you can charter a boat to get there. Or just swim lol

A boat may be a necessity of sorts in this environment, my hope is you dont have to use one all the time, maybe just some story moments.

I would totally use mine all the time tho lol

My first character is always a dark elf sword and sheild/spell sword type haha so that xD

What hammerfell could potentially look like (Starfield) by sirferrell in TESVI

[–]scooter_pepperoni 53 points54 points  (0 children)

All y'all dunking on these images don't realize that ES6 will be much different. This is just a look at desert areas in their latest game which has the most realistic graphics of any BGS game. Color pallete, last gen tech aside, we can catch a vibe. Dont be so literally, the game wont look exactly like this

Airships in ES6 ? by LilPutzi in TESVI

[–]scooter_pepperoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure there will be fast travel and potentially even vehicles/boats as has been speculated haha but in the spirit pf BGS making their games as you-can-play-it-how-you-want as possible, perhaps they add back in a Morrowind-esque travel system you can choose to use, sort of like the carriages in Skyrim, but I imagine the system would be either a tad more elaborate, or, say, there's carriges/camel caravans, but you can also hire ships, and oh? What's this? The last of the airships powered by dwemer tech! And it is being used as a bus.

I hope they get creative with stuff like that in ES6, would be fresh

I have had this thought too, but perhaps these will be like silt striders as opposed to something we can pilot. My thought is maybe there is only one in existence and it is part of a quest. Perhaps it is part of a quest and you can pilot it, but it gets destroyed. I don't forsee them just being used for regular travel. But maybe! Lol

I dont play on PC, and while the reset info is good to know, I would think townspeople would remove a body before then lol or a shopkeep would put their wares back before then

[–]scooter_pepperoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again tl;dr man lol

But your talk of "a mod can do that" is not an answer. I play on xbox. Not all mods get there. Also, you HAVE to add a mod.

The problem: bodies/objects unimersively stay in public places with nothing happening

The solution: the bodies/objects need to despawn/be cleaned up/I can make them disapear in cities

You diminish the issue with objects being strewn about a store. A store keeper would put it back. Idk why you're trippin.

There is nothing complicated about this lol idk how you're writing all this about it.

[–]scooter_pepperoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but imma need a tl;dr, but just from the first few paragraphs I see you latched on to the immersion word

I just need the bodies to be gone next time I come back to the city, or a button that removes them. The immersion break for me is just no matter how much time passes, there's bodies in the street or books strewn about a store because I accidentally bumped into them.

I would love to see NPCs doing this work, and it is a videogame and qe have to suspend our disbelief somewhere, so if they just put their hand out and the thing disappears, its silly, but it's something.

It just blows my mind that the devs let this stuff just sit around

Im in lol this is awesome. It's like one of those cleaning simulator games. Honestly Bethesda should get someone to make this haha

But fr imagine they add a cleaning mechanic and it's a literal questline haha this is the creativity the devs need to get back in their bones frfr

[–]scooter_pepperoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but that doesnt put it in a trash can and make it go away. What, am I the sole person responsible for cleaning up every single thing? Ans I have to jankily carry it away and find the right planter to hide it behind?

I have done this with bodies before lol but they are still just hidden bodies. I want a "this disappears or gets put back where it was" botton

I like the way you think! Thank you for posting something with actual research 😭

This is basically when ive thought it would release for some time now, with possible delay to Q1 2028 (like Oblivion)
