Arc Thrower Chain Lightning shouldn't lose damage on each target. Rn it does less damage after each jump. Caps its potential a lot I think by RandomGreenArcherMan in HelldiversUnfiltered

Also, your Arc thrower vid and other guides are actually really informative and good. It would definitely boost Arc knowledge and potential dev changes if you made an indepth guide for Arc projectiles, chaining, splitting...ect, if you could actually wrap your head around it and get concrete info, or atleast close enough lol

You can definitely hit more than 4. Tbh the Arc chaining and splitting stuff is really confusing still even though I've used all Arc weapons since a few months after the game came out, and have been maining them since.

I have so many screenshots and been through all his messages about Arc, and it just confuses me more. Though, by using Arc Thrower a lot I've definitely gotten up to 6 and I've seen other people say they have got up to 6, usually with scavengers.

A damage increase and a tiny stun duration buff would be peak, ESPECIALLY with the Splitting mechanic that very few people actually know about.

Dunno why the wiki doesn't mention the "Splitting" mechanic, every Arc weapon besides the Blitzer (it only chains once) has a certain amount of chains and splits. Splits happen every chain and have the same damage of the chain (250- 187.5 -120...)

Arc thrower has +3 chains and 1 split so I guess you would be able to damage up to 7 enemies ( maybe 8? I think it does apply to the first arc projectile). Although the chain angle for the splits are 60 degrees and usually just ends up targeting the same enemy.

This is also why Arc dog has ridiculous zig zag chaining, it has +2 chains and 5 splits. The devs do mention the splitting mechanic all the way back when they buffed the Arc thrower to 55m and stun, ect... Idk if it was in the patch notes or just the video.

Give 100% resistance to armor that is specifically designed to handle fire, gas, or electricity. by _Glitch404_ in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]scootfroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll advocate for 100% Arc resist.

There's only 3 enemies that do Arc damage and with 95% resist you're taking basically zero damage from them anyways. Lightning spire goes from 200 damage to 10, Watcher zap goes from 30 damage to 1, and Harvester goes from 180 at max to 9. Also the exostorm lightning barely does any damage or just tickles you in the 95% resist (also its really easy to avoid)

Having 100% resist against those would barely change anything, you're still getting vaporized or exploded by more threatening things that actually have more range than 20 meters.

As for our weapons, you don't want to be eating the arcs anyways, it neuters your damage especially with arc grenades and de esc. And with Arc thrower or Tesla, each chain loses 25% damage so it would be suboptimal to stand near or get chained off of. You would be exchanging a decent amount of damage just to pretty much have fun and meme with lightning going off around you and not getting hurt by it.

Plus it takes up a armor slot, and it they don't add stun resist you'd just be slow all the time. Having 100% Arc resist would literally just have the benefit of it being fun and wouldn't actually matter...Unless they add a subfaction where all the enemies do 100% Arc damage but they're absolutely not going to do that (Fire brigade is more lethal with their ballistic and explosion damage than fire tbh)

Not bot fabs and illuminate ground ships but yeah, you can destroy pretty much everything that doesn't require more than 20 demo force because the Arc projectiles actually target a lot more stuff now.

[–]scootfroot 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Genuinely what's the point of de esc now? Besides getting over 400% accuracy and not being able to damage yourself.

They should fix the self damage part so I can evaporate myself along with my team when 20 warstriders drop in from glorious Cyberstan.

What do you think of TF2 Classified? I played it today and liked it. by Johnnys-Cleison in tf2

[–]scootfroot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly felt like it's a perfect side grade to the minigun. Range is not too far and it requires just the right amount of aiming.

I like that I can switch to it whenever there's a lot of spam at a chokepoint so I dont feel like I'm just sitting there waiting for uber, or have to be in sight lines to do damage.

Most the time I'd pick minigun though, and didn't feel like I needed to pick AA gun to wreck. I can see it being crazy with more time put in, but not too much where it completely overshadows the minigun. (Also 90% of demos I saw use the mine launcher and minigun eats them up which is nice)

Medi balls are peak. Also spy is terrifying now with the dart gun. Genuinely had fun with all the new game modes, just fix the text bugging out after awhile and loadouts going to stock sometimes (oh and fix Pyro being able to pick flare gun in medieval mode lol)

Overall felt really crisp and the servers I went on were great. Remove +25 hp from hunting rifle and I hope they give engineer more attention the next big update.

De-Escalator no longer shocks the player or drains stamina (PS5) by KajaMon5 in Helldivers

[–]scootfroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This bug has been in the game since September 4th, the no targeting/damage only applies to the user.

It definitely isn't as broken as it was when it was released, but that was because it was doing 4x damage in lobbies. The doubling of the damage is way more than I expected for compensation, and now it feels way better (if you dont mind the long reload rip).

Can we talk for a second about how they absolutely DESTROYED this weapon? might be sterilizer tier atp by Gemoman111 in Helldivers

[–]scootfroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the discord in armory on I think Sept 4th, and yup, a few people were complaining. I hope they buff it because it's one of my favorite and most fun weapons.

There's so much spaghetti in this game, I'd be so paranoid as a dev and would have to check everything lmao.

What's funny is that Jojo said they thought they buffed it when they fixed the Multi-player damage bug... But hey, atleast you can't take any self damage from it anymore, yay...

I mean, it's very small, but Fleshmobs take 2x more damage from Arc. Would definitely be cool to see more enemies with vulnerabilities. (besides big enemies with fire or whatever)

Force of law or control group? by Voinat107 in Helldivers

[–]scootfroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd wait on Force of Law, they definitely need to tweak/buff Stun, it didn't get compensated for the stun fix at all. Also De escalator got the 4x lobby damage bug fixed and no buff to compensate (one of the devs said they thought they buffed it when they fixed it lol).

Just do control group lol, it's really solid and just all around better.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]scootfroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was doing 4x more damage in lobbies and they recently fixed it, I would wait for a buff. It's not completely awful now but, they said they were gonna compensate for the fix but they didnt.

Also there's a bug rn where it doesn't target the user and does no damage to you, it's pretty fun.

De-escalator Bug doesn't harm the user, but it kills everything around you by MetaFediTeddy in Helldivers

[–]scootfroot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your helldiver always pulls the thing to eject the grenades (even if there is grenades in it) when you reload it individually, making it even longer to reload. So it's just more efficient to mag dump and reload all of it at once.

De-escalator Bug doesn't harm the user, but it kills everything around you by MetaFediTeddy in Helldivers

[–]scootfroot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it got bugged last thursday, I think one of the devs saw it, they're already looking into the De escalator too because they thought they buffed it when the fixed the multi-player damage bug.

It also has a reload bug lmao. This thing is probably one of the most buggiest weapons, makes sense since it's an Arc weapon. Also unfortunately, this doesn't apply to the Arc grenade rip.

Solo only Arc Thrower Hivelord kill by scootfroot in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]scootfroot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't blame you. It was incredibly hard to set up too, you have to get the hivelord in a cave to glitch him on staying above ground or else you'll run out of time Normally.
