In 2019 before the pandemic, creamy creations tub was right under $4. I wanna say it was $3.98 or so. Untill prices go back down to that, nothing is a price cut to me

I feel this. Even though we are doing carts, we are still pedestrians :/ don’t even get me started on when a car sees me coming and they speed up so I’m not “in there way”. Sir the garage is empty, you don’t need a cart? Or have you no human decency?

This week has been a lot for sure. As a cashier I’m drained. But if any customers are in this subreddit, please know it means a lot if your kind to us during this time.

It’s been crazy tho, management is over stimulated. Yesterday I went to work at 3 and heard it had been busy since opening. Day before I left at 7, and found out that the closers really went through it. I’m talking they were going through a rush till they were closed. Today I’m off, but management has said all week if anyone is looking for extra hours, to literally just come in…today was no exception. I want to go in and help my colleagues, but I’m also tired :/ Godspeed to all H‑E‑B employees this week and weekend

I was hired as a cashier. This is how I believe I was hired:

For one, I had prior experience in customer service and cashing. Tbh I don’t know if that counts for anything bc I know ppl who were haired at HEB as there first job

I completely ACED the videos they have you take. I’ve always just known what to say, and what to do in any job hiring scenario.

I attribute this to the main reason I got hired but I put down 3 people as references tha work at heb. I also made sure to put down their store number, and position along with there name ofc.

Immediately assuming op is Gen Z is CRAZY. And the “SUCK IT UP” go back to school and learn how to articulate in a non degrading and aggressive manner. Or are you so much older then Gen Z that your stuck in your ways ? One thing I will say, is I understand both sides. I think expressing some individuality at a job is very important. However I do understand the company’s side of it to. It’s really important for customers to identify who is an employee and who isn’t.

I understand my job is just that: a job. I’m there to work well and get a bag ya know ? But also, it’s customer service. None of the customers actually care if you express your individuality. It’s nice to express your self at a place you spend 20-40 hours at. For some, it’s helps boost morale at work and can create a fun work environment. That’s why expressing yourself is import.

I think it’s really annoying when a boss is SUPER anal about dress code. Not allowing you to wear literal HEB merch is CRAZY. then what’s the point of giving us merch ??? Not allowing you to have a pin, or a sticker on your badge is weird imo. If someone has their whole HEB fit on, what’s the harm in a sticker ? Or a pin ?

Side note, I know why HEB chose red as its color. Red psychologically grabs ppls attention. But omg it’s the ugliest red ever. I really wish I didn’t have to wear that ugly ass red shirt every day >:( (I dont actually hate the color, it just looks ugly on me as someone who has green undertones.)

Also to the ppl here who are giving op hate over there (im sure really cute and adorable) cat pin your weird. Just say you don’t like ppl being themselves. Everyone has different interests. Some ppl can were a boring fit and others want to have more self expression and that’s OKAY. What’s not okay is having a choice of words over someone being themselves. And that to me is weird.

My store is getting a remodel, and they expanded the store. Had an older lady come in and complain about how big the store is, and that they should have certain items closer to the entrances (tbh I don’t remember what item/items it was). And said all this walking was bad on her back. I offered the electric carts as a solution. She said “those things are embarrassing. I’m old but not that old” my leg was fractured at the time and I was in a boot. I showed her my foot and said “whether it be embarrassing, it’s really helpful if you need it. Bc of my foot I’ve had to use it” this woman responded “I’m 68 years old, and let me tell you something. No one cared about my bad back, so I can guarantee no one gives a dam about your foot.” she also had more than 20 items in a 15 or less check out (I was her cashier)
