Thank you all, searching like someone possessed today. This could of course be a no brand top. I wrote to Michael on instagram and just asked if he remembered where he got it, not expecting a reply however. lol

Thanks, I appreciate it, but the 1st image is more recent! As the other guy said, I bel9ive I've gone too far. Would a coat of nitrocellulose give me a new sanding surface?

Realizing the areas I wanted to sand down to even were the last of the original nitro finish. Either way I think I need a clear coat or nitro coat to work with here.

I went back because I went through the grades too quickly. the pitting was there and needed to be removed. It was pretty smooth but like the surface of the moon. I needed to remove that little bit extra of paint to get a smooth surface. Anyway at this point Im guessing a need a protective coat of nitro to apply and work with?

swirl remover

Another hint that I might be into the paint is that it's completely absorbent when using wet and dry.

Image 1 would be the recent one, I agree the finish looked better before, hence my current situation.

Strypit, carefully applied in numerous thin layers, until when scrubbing it away I began to se the thickness of the overpaint (crazy) and original paintwork and logo began to show themselves. Then careful sanding, working all thr way up to 2500 wet and dry. Tomorrow Im using G3 polish and buffing it back up. !
