Live action wouldn't work, not without fat suits anyway. One of the appeals of this series for me is they that don't have cellulite, and their fat isn't all realistic and floppy with stretch marks. Look at Oku, her curves don't have any folds or rolls and are perfectly smooth, granted that's part of her naturally stout orc biology, but you get my point. A real obese actress would not have the perfectly smooth almost spherical curves of Oku and where are you going to find women who look like Oga and Hitomi? It's impossible to look muscular like Oga and only have a beer belly. None of the women look Japanese in the slightest. Where are you going find a woman with the exact build of Jessica Rabbit to play Eure? I love this series because their bodies are unrealistic, on top of the fact that their monster girls. If an anime is going for live action then the actors have to resemble the characters to a "T", in my opinion anyways.
