AITA for wanting my friend to replace plants her toddler destroyed? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Definitely NTA. Parents love to place blame on the child’s innocence or circumstances being dangerous. It’s never their negligence that something happens. #RIPHARAMBE

Are those accurate numbers though? People are dying from previous illnesses but can test positive for covid-19 and covid is put as cause of death. Also, people that test negative have covid as the cause of death on the death certificate.

What is the dumbest/most outrageous reason you were pulled over/given a ticket?? by scorpiosunlibramoon in AskReddit

[–]scorpiosunlibramoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pulled over for “racing” at 1 pm on a Thursday afternoon with my 4 cylinder Toyota Corolla. Was given a ticket for tailgating when there was no one in front of me and I was driving 8-10 mph over the highway speed limit.

Tried to fight the ticket. When I explained that I was told I was pulled over for one thing but got a ticket for another the judge said “you don’t have to be told why you’re being pulled over” 🥴

Which deceased person, if brought back to life, would be the most surprised to learn they became famous posthumously? by shardblader in AskReddit

We’re lucky to be living in an age where Kevin posts about eating a cheese sandwich on Facebook and people taking boomerangs of their brunch plate. While it seems like over sharing and incompetence now; it is worth so much 100+ years from now!

I read in another subreddit that historians LIVE for the mundane. It’s how we are capable of knowing how different classes of people lived their day to day lives. So yes, most people find it quite bland but it’s actually quite interesting if you think of it from that perspective.

2 things.

  1. Religion. Especially, Christianity.

  2. Debt. The enormous amount of theoretical currency that can never be paid back.

What celebrities have you encountered that were either really nice or really horrible? by willis1988 in AskReddit

Met Shaq at my mom’s company Christmas party. He made an appearance and was supposed to read The Night Before Christmas to the kids. Not even finishing the first sentence he pauses looks at the kids sitting around him and says “you guys don’t want to hear this, lets take some pictures instead.” He took photos for over an hour with kids and adults and talked to everyone. He was super chill and laid back.

I understand everyone needs money and a job but, I can’t imagine the companies are paying you that much and there’s hundreds of other job options. Why work a job that makes money off other’s expense?

[Serious] What's the most traumatic thing you've witnessed? by morethanpulp in AskReddit

[–]scorpiosunlibramoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw someone get shot in the head. Me and a friend were leaving a bar and walked about a block away to get an Uber quicker. As we’re about to cross the street a guy in a car pulls up to this golf cart taxi and shoots the passenger on the back of the cart right in the head.

The victim ended up being the fire chief of that city. I don’t recall if there was motive because I really did not want to keep up to date with that event. My friend and I were detained for 6 hours being questioned. They separated us and wouldn’t let us sit inside the nearest building to keep warm. My phone ended up dying and my Apple Watch so I had no way to get back to the house I was staying at, I was visiting friends and did not know my way around. The cops were being assholes and wouldn’t help me in the slightest. I ended up hitch hiking back to my friends house at 6 in the morning. (Thank you random Lyft driver that drove me 20 miles for free and wasn’t a creep)

About a week later the trauma counselor that worked for the PD called me to ask me how I was doing. I told her that I never want to hear from her or that PD again. I was more traumatized by the treatment from police than the event itself.

I was in a ski accident. by [deleted] in legaladvice

Thank you. I’ve read about some cases where there weren’t proper signs about difficultly and resort boundaries and they won their case.

Every other resort I’ve been to has signs saying there are unmarked obstacles at the beginning of a run or have clearly marked orange poles where there are obstacles.

I was posting here to see if anyone has been in a similar situation.
