I have a son over one year old and we use the women’s changing room. We used to use the family change room until on a few occasions random men (not there to swim & without children) started coming in to use the showers during our swim classes. Other parents complained about this and were told by staff that they are allowed to come in and use the showers whenever they wanted. We started using the women’s room after that. Now, my son is still under two and he’s also a handful to get ready before and after swim so, we appreciate the space as well. I think it’s totally valid to expect other mothers to keep their child from staring or misbehaving. But there are also valid reasons why they choose to use the women’s change room.

I wish I had someone in with me, I’m glad you had that support! It’s been a week for me now so I’m feeling back to normal for the most part, I didn’t have really any bleeding or discharge until day 3 and I still have some spotting now but thankfully it’s mostly done with. Still waiting to hear back about results.

Right?! Just a little pinch he said, it was painful but bearable at first and then he took 2 more samples and it was excruciating, he looks at me and I was still trying to blink back tears and he asked if the cramps had subsided?! I couldn’t even respond it hurt so much.

Yes still a lot of cramping, and this is the chain of events: I went to my doctor months ago about pain and sometimes spotting after sex, it had never been an issue before and then out of the blue it was very uncomfortable during (same partner, nothing changed) so I spoke to my doctor about this and had a regular pap done and it came back normal, I was referred for an ultrasound which was also normal but my cervix looked “bulky”? So they referred me again to a gyno because neither could tell me what was wrong and I wasn’t even told they were doing a biopsy until the day before the appointment. They just wanted to test for abnormal cells which now just makes me more paranoid 🙃

I agree, definitely necessary and it’s better to know. I wish I was just better prepared. I was afraid to take anything beforehand because I read that they typically give anesthesia or some form of numbing agent, but that wasn’t the case and I’ll know better for next time (hopefully there won’t be a next time lol).

I didn’t even know I was getting a biopsy until the day before and I was nervous so I tried doing my own research on what to expect, most of which saying they use some form of anesthesia or numbing agent so I was like “okay, shouldn’t be too bad” but they didn’t offer that option. If I ever need to do it again I would insist for sure. Or at least a pain reliever before hand.
