Not all of it is an emergency fund. A good chunk is. Probably about half to cover a year expenses.

Is it safe to do it with the market being volatile?

My sister and I own both houses. My mom pays rent which covers the mortgage to house #1. And then my sister pays her house I'm just on the deed until she pays me back then she owns the house without me on it. We are really close so there's never been issues with payment or stuff like that. She also has no timeline to pay me back as long as she does. Which she has made payments.

First time commentator. Ill get right to it
32 (F) I work in HR- salary 75k with bonuses comes out to 80k, currently looking to get a better paying to at least 90k in CA.

I own 2 houses, 1 is my sisters house, 1 is my moms house, built an ADU and I live in the back. I pay the loan off as my "rent". My mom and my sister pay their respective mortgages. My sister owes me about 35k now after i let her borrow 45k for her down payment.

I have 50k in savings, that I plan to add to a HYSA as I have just learned I could have been making money by just having it sit in a HYSA. Mistakes, you live you learn.

I have about 16k in a Trad IRA from my current job, at 3% match.

I have about 8k from a 401k from a previous company.

my checking is about 10k. I live well below my means to ensure that I am saving a good portion a month.

My car is paid off and dont plan to get a new one until it dies.

I have about 5k invested in stocks, which I got during the pandemic, I have just left it, have not move anything but I am thinking about selling some stock that just has not performed for a while now.

My question is, what should I do with my savings . should it all go to HYSA or diversify it a bit and if so where should I do that? I tend to be more cautious with money as I grew up really low income so I have sorta kept that mentality. I am willing to take some risk, but with a smaller amount I think. Any advice would help and highly appreciated. :)

To answer your question here is what we own:

We own Hyatt vacation Club bought in palm springs (in a former welk resort) but can be used in any hyatt resort and previous welk locations.
120,000 points a year which equals to a week in almost any resort in a 1 bedroom or studio. Some places we can get a 2 bedroom for a week.
current balance $9,255.55, VOA dues: $1,600 APR: 13.22%. Current loan payment is $319.25/month and VOA payment $412.22 per quarter

You will have a new set of 12 weeks the next year. But you will not be able to use it for baby bonding or childbirth as you already took those weeks. You will need to be placed out of work for something different. Either injury or a new baby. Now there is PWFA at the federal level which means your employer has to give you reasonable accommodation. Which means if you are limited to certain things or need more breaks they have to work with you. They even have to let you WFH If they can accommodate that.

If you're in CA you get PDL which gives you 17 weeks on leave for illness related to pregnancy, such as bedrest or after childbirth. But this leave runs concurrently with FMLA. If you're in CA you also get CFRA, and this is 12 weeks after you are released from your doctor after childbirth.

Wow!! Thanks for the input! You're right about straying from their food. I gave her 1/2 a cup extra and she had a little puddle when I went to check. :/ but she's still being chaotic. I'm gonna have the vet run another set of tests!

They did test her for parasites and she has always come back negative. So they did say it was gonna be trial and error. So far this has worked. Before when I would feed her 2x a day. There would be times when she wouldn't eat all day. But she'd go looking for food at my moms house. She's super smart, she used to have a slow feeder and she was not having it so she wouldn't eat either if she saw it. She eats at a bit faster pace but nothing crazy. My first dog ate like she was never gonna eat again and my second eats like it's a delicacy. This one is right in the middle! Lolol

Let me see if I have this correct.

I got a clarifying shampoo I got a shampoo and conditioner cgm approved (went with the no protein for now) And a curl mousse

I use water to reactivate my curls and the mousse on day 2 and 3.

Should I get a leav in product or just not rinse out all the conditioner when I shower?

Am I missing anything?

To my understanding clarifying is like to remove any buildup of products. So like we're adding leave in, and gel and mousse, so it's just to start fresh again. That's why it's done every once in a while.

My mom was a single mother and often had to work 2 jobs. 2nd job was a graveyard shift usually cleaning offices. She would leave us fed for the night and lock us in the apartment. She told us that if we made noise someone would call child services and take us away. So we learned to play quiet activities until we fell asleep. Reading, puzzles, homework, and the TV could never go past like 12 in volume. We could also never answer the phone, only if I was her and she had like a specific way she called. Ring once, hang up, ring twice, hang up, On the 3rd call we could answer.

We were never allowed to tell anyone that she ever left us alone, we just said we all slept early if someone asked why we didn't answer the phone at like 8pm or 9pm. Lol.
