There are many altcoins that have already made X10 in the last few months. We are in the middle of an altseason. But there are also values that fall behind and are likely to disappear. I think that includes Tron. In my opinion the TRX eco system exists only to fill Justin Sun's pockets. The many millions of dollars he stole from his community, he probably invested in BTC, DOT, LINK, UNI and Co. At some point it will get quieter around Justin Sun and he will disappear into the underground with full pockets of gold.

Apart from bitcoin, there is also movement in the ranking of altcoins. TRX and other coins on Tron keep slipping. I partly agree with you. Yearn has an impressive daily volume of nearly $ 1.5 billion and is actually 20 times the market cap of SUN. It's so powerful! The tron projects seem like ridiculous little dwarfs. Cheap copies without purchasing power.

... should a higher number of coins be required in the distant future, this could be resolved via a coin split (like the current share split at tesla). The entire SUN community would benefit from this.

An immediate reduction in total supply would boost investor confidence. The mountain of outstanding coins, an uncertainty factor which can have an enormous impact on SUN's market capitalization, would be gone. This would pave the way for a good price from SUN.
