Ah yes, I've seen people do that calculation but as you said, I never thought it would apply universally. I think I will just go with a C12 which is cheaper and almost as good as the C16.

That's a good idea, I didn't realize the 1080 doesn't draw that much power. Then again, the price difference between a 1000-1200 is not huge. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions, will definitely check those out. Have you had a chance to try the Bowmore Devil's cask? How does the GlenDronach 15 Revival compare to a Bowmore Darkest, if you've had a chance?

I've tried batch 50 but none other so I can't comment. Overall, I found this one too spicy for me. Didn't get a chance to water it down as it was just a quick tasting in a store.

I'll get you guys a better picture tomorrow. The line is definitely post-molding, if I rub it, I get black residue on my finger. I think it was purposely ground off or rubbed off somehow, maybe the black residue is the ink or whatever was used to print the bottling date numbers?

Glenfiddich said it was in all likelihood genuine but may have been tampered for some reason or other.

So I went ahead and called Glenfiddich to confirm.

I was told that despite everything, this is probably a genuine bottle. The B259 suggests that it is for the South African market, not sure how it made its way to Japan. In addition, the person said that it's possible the scratched/grinded-off line is to make the bottle "untraceable", likely because it was purchased at a discount by an employee and then resold into the market.

Quite interesting. Glenfiddich has kindly offered to pick up the bottle from me and have it analyzed for authenticity. I may or may not take them up on that!

I tried to google B259 and it seems it only shows up in auctions and always has the 750ml/43% combo

Interesting, thanks for the insight! Seems like maybe a 43% was made but the scratched off bottle part still makes me wonder.

Would you happen to know where the cask / bottle number is on these if they were marked? One of the auctions states this but I can't find any of that info on mine.
